How cold is the air conditioning on a cruise ship?

We will be on Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Sea. I'm used to setting our air conditioning at home at around 80 degrees in the summer, unless I'm exercising, & I'm comfortable.
Additional Details
I'm wondering about the temperature in the dining room, theatre, lounges, & other indoor public areas.

You'll want a sweater, jacket, or other kind of covering over street clothes. I get cold easily and while I debated bringing a jacket on my recent cruise on the Carnival Triumph (given the projected temperatures of Miami and the ports), I found it useful in the showrooms and on deck.

Air conditioning will run full blast in your stateroom until you change it. If you wish, your cabin steward will be more than happy to provide extra blankets if you request them.

It's always better to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it.

i would call the cruiselines and ask them that question. If you have a difficulty with something request help from someone on the cruise. they are usually very helpful. In the rooms you can have it warmer or cooler as you wish.
have a nice cruise,

I have been on a lot of Royal Caribbean cruises and found that the A/C was not working that great. I think that a car A/C works better than a ships A/C.

Every cabin has an adjustable thermostat.

Mary L
Although you can adjust the temperature in your cabin, the rest of the ship will be whatever the hotel manager and engineers determine is most appropriate. I have always found the public areas in a ship to be quite similar to any shopping mall temperature-wise. If you want a sweater in the mall, you will want a sweater on the ship.

Each room has their own thermostat so you should be fine. I'm use to setting my house at 74 and I'm always hot in the room. However, I'm usually comfortable or even a little chilly while at dinner, a bar, the casino, or the shows. I think they must keep the public areas around 70-72. This is all pertaining to the Royal Caribbean Sovereign of the Seas. (I've cruised on it 6 times now.)
