I've been aboard the Regent Seven Seas Cruises twice. The food is soothing to the taste buds. To add, they have varied dishes ranging from european to meditteranean. Presentation is A-plus. |

I went for the first time in 2006, I must say the food is pretty good. There is a large variety at the buffets ( remember there is food on the deck also). I also had a sit down 3 course meals for lunch once ( you share a table with about 9 other people), or you can buffet. Your dinner can also be a three course meal which is nice (and you can have seconds on Carnival). I LOVE dessert, so that was the best part for me. I also had room services several times for my mid-night munches. My fiance had a ball when it came to the food, I remember him going to a mid-night buffet! |

I have found that the "all-day" food is ok, like someone said, a 7 out of 10. however, the sit down dining, was AMAZING!!! 10 out of 10, five stars, and two thumbs up.
don't be afraid to ask for special preparation if you need it. I have recently had gastric bypass, and made requests specific to my diet, and the staff bent over backwards to accomodate.
I have also found this site helpful in booking cruises at discount rates. They have "groups" that you can go with, without having to "join" anything.
www.getset2cruise.com
click the "groups" tab, and there's hundreds of cruises. we're going on the one called "A Date With Destiny" in October.

I have been on about 20 cruises but not on Seven Seas. BUT, if the food on all of the second tier cruise lines is an indication I know that Seven Seas will be as good or better.
First of all there is always a full variety of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whatever you want to eat at each meal is typically available. Then the typical cruise dinner menu has great choices on select days like Prime Rib, Fillet Mignon, Lobster, steak, roast pork , roast lamb, shrimp, all types of chicken dishes and a full selection of great vegetables. The appetizer and soup menus include a wide variety of items like escargo, shrimp, crab salad, French onion soup, and all types of mixed and green salad. The desert menus typically always include things like baked Alaska, cherries jubilee, cheese cakes with fruit, creme Boule, and any number of other dishes you can only get in fine restaurants.
The real difference that I have seen between the cruise lines as far as food is concerned is not what is available, but how it is presented. In this regard Princess and Celebrity has the best presentations. Presentation would be bringing you an entre plate that is colorful and tasty. I am sure that Seven Seas would do as good a job at that also. |

It all depends on what you like; standard or gourmet food. Usually the more expensive cruise lines have gourmet food, which is like cream sauces, saute foods, cavier, and alot of rich foods like in your more expensive restaurants. It's good, but not on a daily basis.
The rest of the ships have a wide variety with an occassional gourmet dish to a hamburger. Seven Seas cruises are in the upscale bracket. All ships have a good variety so one can always find something good to eat. A lot depends on the chefs, the size of the ship, and the price of a cruise. |

We travel on Carnival a lot and the food there is very good.
The problem is though, there is so much variety that you can't choose especially with the buffet.
The sit down dinners are ok, but you only have three choices for your main meal.
Be prepared to gain some weight!!

I just went on a cruise on a Royal Caribbean Ship and the food was amazing.
For breakfast, lunch, dinner there were huge buffets that were deicious.
There was also a choice to go in the dining room, and for dinner, you get an awesome three course meal. (a different menu for each day)
The food is great |

Regent is a luxury cruise line . . . the food should be top-notch. i went on Carnival (the Wal-Mart of cruise lines) before, and i thought that the food in the dining room (the actual "gourmet" meals) were fantastic, so Regent should be even better :) |
