That happened to me. I didn't get motion sickness on the cruise but was sick for two weeks after the cruise. Take the over the counter bonine but take 1 pill every 6 to 8 hours. It should resolve in a few days. The bonine aka antivert is the same thing physicians prescribe for motion sickness and vertigo. |

Don't worry too much about this: Big vessels like cruise ships don't move around nearly as much as small boats.
However, if you are sensitive to motion sickness on land, you can use the following:
* Accupressure wrist-band. My mom (a doctor) swore by these. The Sea Band brand gets good ratings on Amazon.
* Scopalamine patch. Works well, but requires a prescription and should only be worn for three days at a time (the medication isn't so good for you)
* Over-the-counter pills. Dramamine-type anti-nausea pills. These are usually available at the front desk. Take them BEFORE you feel sick. (Usually the ship will tell you if the weather will be rocky on any particular day.)
* Ginger. I don't get sea sick on cruises, but on sail boats I really like ginger candy or ginger capsules.
* Be nice to your stomach. Don't eat too much, and minimize your consumption of rich foods and alcohol. If you already feel sick, dry crackers and green apples can help settle your stomach.
There are more tips (including which cruises to avoid / seek out) on avoiding motion sickness here:

Unless you've gotten seasick before on a cruise ship, I'm betting that the chances of this happening to you are small. But, if you want to be prepared, pick up some Dramamine, or get a prescription for something such as Transderm, which is a small patch you put behind your ear. Again, these ships use stabilizer systems which stop most or all rocking and pitching, so I doubt this is an issue for you (never has been for my family), but, if you're concerned, pick one of these up and you should be fine.

They have medication on board, just go down to the doctors office, and they have motion sickness pills. There are the little patches you wear behind your ear, and the little bracelets that you wear on your wrist. Also I hear cinnamon is suppossed to help, but I've never tried it. I know for a fact that green apples and fresh fruit help settle your stomach, and green apples are delicious... Also over the counter dramamine works wonders. |

I use a electronic sea sickness wristband. It works great and can be picked up at boating stores. Costs about $100. |

Eat apples, take a ginger capsule and don't drink too much alcohol. Stay moving, if you lay down, you will notice the ship rocking more. Unless it is really rough seas, though, you shouldn't get sea sick, as cruise ships these days are stabalized. |

Ask your doctor what he recommends. My husband used th patch that people often get and had no problems. Although it may really have been the "placebo effect". I had absolutely no problems without any time of medicine.
Frankly, I really doubt that you will get sick from a cruise. The motion is so subtle that you probably won't even know you're moving!
Have a good time! |

You most likely won't get motion sickness. The first day you will notice the ship rock but after that you are pretty much good to go! You will forget you are even on water. We took motion sickness pills just as a pre-caution and all it did was drain us. The pills made us so tired all we did was sleep for hours wasting an entire day. They also have a small patch that you put on behind your ear. I didn't try those, but they seem to be the choice of many. You should be okay though. It really isn't bad at all. God bless! |
