So I've heard of this. See what I wanted to do was merely join the crew of a really rich guy. You have to keep his ship in perfect shape and he calls and says I'm flying to St Thomas next Monday. Have the ship there when I arrive. And you sail the ship from wherever to St Thomas. That sounded ideal to me. Of course you have to cater to the rich guy when he is actually there--but each job has a cost.

But seriously I recently saw something on the news about some girl that set up a website like paymyrent.com and said she needed donations to pay her rent and people started sending money to her like crazy. She makes thousands a month off this site.

So create a site like seeyouonmyyacht.com and set up a really nice pg. You gotta spend some effort here. Mention how you accept cash, check, and perhaps if you can swing it, accept paypal as well. Talk about what yacht you plan on buying (after all people want to see where their money goes) and create one of those lil goal thermometers on the side, demonstrating how much you've raised. Add some promises about how when you get it you will update the website regularly with the purchasing process and how you'll run a poll for which ports you should sail too. Promise pictures when you get there!

Definitely.

(If you set up this site, email me the link. I want to keep track of your progress and I may even send you the final $10 to purchase it)

If you are an expert navigator, you may have a chance on finding some sponsors that are interested in the advertising revenue and publicity you would get for them. If all you've ever done is a rowboat, you should probably try to get a realtor's license and make a lot of money and buy your own yacht.
