i did the mouth wash thing too but i bought clear alcohol such as rum and put a drop of green and a drop of blue food coloring in it to give it the blue green tint. ya the drinks are like 8-10 a pop on cruises

Also after you make your first stop you could sneak a fifth back in easily in your back pocket as long as it doesn't have a metal cap the detectors only check for metal or you could fill up any kind of beverage bottle with alcohol they really didn't watch that close on my cruise

BEST,BEST,BEST,BEST Suggestion. Worked for me many times. Get a shampoo bottle. Clean it out. A few times. Let it sit with water for a day. Pour it out. Pour in the Alchohol of your choice, and enjoy. This way they can't see the color of whats inside, and you won't have anyone steal it. There you go. Just make sure you don't get a little tipsy in the shower. Just kidding. Have Fun on the Cruise.

I pack all mine in one suitcase and check it....Do not carry it own.
Never had a problem....If you want to carry it on a bottled water bottle with vodka works too!

we took a couple of pints with us on our cruise...just put it in multiple zip lock bags wrapped up in the clothes in the suitcase. Don't leave them out (in sight) in your cabin though...they might confiscate it. Take the empty ones to a public area & dispose of them there.

Don't. Just enjoy yourself. Just relax, spend some money, its not worth getting caught. If you really need to take it, pay my way and i will carry it for you. really, its no problem

My friend and I did a quick hand-off while the security guard wasn't looking but that's iffy. If you get a smallish bottle you can just tuck into into your waistband. They don't search you, they just poke thru your bag. The empty shampoo bottle is good too, just make sure the lid is tight because if it leaks the smell will give you away.

Although I buy plenty of cocktails on board, our groups have always brought some alcohol with us as well. Depending on the color of the liquor you want to bring, you can buy a product with that color liquid in the bottle then dump the product, wash the bottle thoroughly, and re-fill.

Be careful with shampoo/soap bottles as it can be tough to get the soapy taste out of the bottle even with washing and soaking. Mouthwash bottles or bottles with products that don't have a bad taste on their own, are better options. Or you can sometimes buy empty colored squirt bottles for travel use (intended for shampoo, conditioner, and such) and use those). Carnvial also allows a reasonable amount of soda per person, to be brought on board (we all took a 12-pack each) so there's a possible mixer right there.

Enjoy!

camelbaks are an excellent invention, and you can fill them with whatever you like.
