If you are looking for a good price on a cruise here are the steps that I follow. I have been on 14 cruises and have always gotten excellent prices using this method.
1. Be flexible. Always book well in advance, try to cruise in periods other than Christmas, New Years, March breaks and so on.
2. Start at CruiseValue.com and search for fares and jot down two or three cruises that you are interested in.
3. With this information go to CruiseCompete.com and fill out their form for your desired cruises. If you are not yet registered with Cruise Compete you can register for free.
4. Within minutes you will recieve competitive quotes sent to you by email from a wide range of cruise travel companies and cruise wholesalers.
5. Contact the company with the lowest fare and ask them if there is a charge for cancelling later and if they say no then I proceed to 'book' the cruise with them. |

The easies way to price compare is to go to an on-line cruise agency vs a direct cruise line. That way you can compare all sorts of lines based on price instead of searching 1 cruise line at a time. Check out: http://www.cruisesonly.com/
You can simply plug in the destination you want to go to and the number of nights and get tons on results based on price.

The short answer is a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean will cost you $800 per person.
However, a cruise can range from about $300 per person for a short 3 day cruise to $5,000 per person for a 7 day cruise on a high end cruise line or a suite of other ships for 7 days, or for a 14 to 21 day cruise on other lines. There are so many options and questions to consider that one concrete answer to your question is not possible without answers to these questions:
1) when do you want to go; Next 60 days, next 6 months, next year sometime., summer months only?? Prices vary each week and cruise lines give substantial discounts for early bookings 9 months to a year in advance.
2) are the five people all adults, or children and adults; # of children and # of adults? Do you expect all 5 people to be in one cabin, or will you want two cabins?
3) how much money do you want to spend, or have to spend, or expect to spend? We can probably find a cruise to fit your budget.
4) WHERE would you like to cruise to, Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Alaska, Panama Canal, Bahamas, other places?
5) Do you have a preference of a cruise line, like Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean??
6) What cruise port/city do you prefer to depart from; East coast cities like Miami, Ft Lauderdale, NY City, Tampa, or West coast like San Diego, Long Beach, Seattle??
7) Do you want the cost or air travel included?
8) Do all of the people traveling in your family have passports?
9) How many days do you want the cruise to be, 3, 5, 7, 12, 14, 15? the total of any cruise price is going to be based on about $125 to $150 per day per person. So, for example a 7 day cruise may be about $800 per person.
10) What type cabin do you want; inside, outside, balcony, suite?? Insides are the least expensive, suites are the most expensive.
Now all of these are questions which pretty much any travel agent is going to ask you before starting to look for a cruise for you. There are probably a few others that I have not listed. So it would be a good idea for you to think about these questions and then do some research for yourself on the cruise line web sites, OR go to a travel agent (try your local AAA or American Express office, or just look in the yellow pages or on the internet) with the answers to these questions and sit and discuss what you want. The travel agent will not charge a fee to find a cruise for you; he/she gets paid by the cruise line when you book.
Now take a look at the sites below to get started. |

As others have said, that depends on a lot of things. But for an inexpensive mass-market line [e.g. Carnival], I would figure on about $1000 each for the cruise part [fare, port activities, soda/wine on the ship, etc.] + air fare [don't use cruise line airfare!].
For lots of info, go to CruiseCritic.com, and click "Boards". |

With five people I would say ur best bet would to have 2 rooms one with threee and other with 2 so the price can be split more evenluy or if u can get 3 more people to go.
Depends how long you want to go for and if you want to drive to ur port of call or fly. Norweigen is the lowest of all cruises from my opinion but the cheapest. Royal carribean is very nivce but ur gonna pay for it and im going to try carnival in may.
I need more info, how long u wanna be on vacation and where you would like to cruise there are sooo many choices.
My first cruise was like 900 for seven day out of galveston which was a western carribean and in may im flying to miami for a 8 day cruise with carnival for 820.
ENOUGH about me, give me more info.
def shop around and dont go to a travel agent ive always found them to be more expensive unless ur totally lost and got the extra money to spare.
try travelocoity, carnival, royal carribean. |

Cruise prices vary dramatically, depending on when you go, where you go, the specific cruise line and the type of cabin you choose.
You also have to factor in air fares, depending on where you live and the port you leave from. |

We are booked on a cruise on Liberty of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) for 7 days and its costing us 1350 a piece. We got outside staterooms with balconies, that is why its costing us a bit more. I would suggest that you just go on the web sites of the cruise lines and put in dates that you think you might like to go and they will show you what they have available and the cost. Several cruise lines have specials, especially if the cruise date is fairly close and they are trying to fill up the ship. You could also go on tripadvisor.com and click on the cruise tab and see what you can find there. |
