I would book it now, early booking can earn you some benefits like On Board Credit, upgraded cabin, or a bigger discount.

I think I'd start looking at pricing now. You don't have to book, but it will be good to get a general idea of how much you'll be paying. Also, get a passport, like others have said.

Try this Travelocity partner site- you can book cruises online that go through this agency's in house travel agents so you get great pricing as if you called in and talked within someone!

www.uctwithme.com, click "Book travel"- then click the big cruise button. Hope this helps!

Also- seriously consider getting travel insurance..it's SO worth it if something comes up, weather is bad, etc.

The minimum, I would say to book a cruise, is around 3 months. you definitely want to do it as soon as you can. You can usually get a room whenever you book it, but if you want a chance to get a good room and everything then you should do it no less than 3 months in advance. We booked our cruise on Carnival for April in February so that was only about 2 months in advance and we got two rooms on the highest deck that you could get rooms on so I guess you don't really have to book it too early, but make you sure you do it soon enough. It also depends on the cruise ship, because some cruises sell out faster than others. I would say that your cruise line won't sell out too fast.

book it now if you have the down payment money
you dont have to pay it all at once
and they are having a sale (today only i think)
for that exact cruise
book your excursions early too (just book them now..you dont have to pay for them until after the cruise and you can cancel them any time up to like 24 or 48 hours before..so get them now before they are full)

oh and i cruised on ncl in jan and absolutely loved it..you are going to have a blast!

There is no harm in booking it now. ... it's best to always book a cruise at least three-four months in advance. The more convenient rooms are given at a priority basis, so the earlier you book, the better the room will be as far as location (best not to be just underneath main decks). Other amenities such as meal service might run full if you book to late. That is to say, if you want the later dinner service (and if you're under 60 you will), you might find that they fill up the dining room quickly for that service and booking too late might force you into the earlier dinner service.

6 months. You will probably need a passport also. It is better to be safe and book a lot in advance then book to late.

The more flexible you are the better, if you can get up and go at any given time, you can save hundreds on fares. Last minutes cruises are the best, company will almost give them away to fill the ship.

We usually book 12-18 months prior to the cruise.

Depends on how "on top of things" we are.
