I've taken several cruises, and I intend to do several more. I've taken cruises on the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Baltic Seas. I've also done two trans-Atlantic cruises, sailing from Europe to the US. I think it is the best way to travel. The ship is your hotel, restaurant and transport all rolled into one.

There is so much to do on board. It is possible to see Broadway-style shows, go to a concert, see hypnotists and magicians, or go to a mini-circus. Failing all that, you can go to the casino. If none of that catches you, you can always stay in your cabin and watch TV: specilaty channels, ship's channel, "Weather Network"-styled channel. You can go shopping in the shops on the ship that sell almost everything you need. You can go to a piano bar and enjoy the music while you have a drink. If you're daring enough, you can do Karaoke. At, night, you can go to the disco and dance till the wake of dawn. And if you don't want to do any of that, you can take a walk on the promenade deck and watch the water and its waves, or watch the sun set and the moon rise, or look at the stars in the sky that you've never had the chance to see.

I haven't even spoken about food! You can eat each meal as often as you want to: once in the dining room, once at a buffet, at least once from Room Service. Then there's the Midnight Buffet. Then you can go to the gym to work it all off! Or go to the beauty salon/spa to spoil yourself.

The last cruise I was on had very rough seas and occasionally we'd hear the theme from 'Titanic', "My Heart Will Go On" by Céline Dion. The ship had no trouble, though a few people were unwell. That was half the fun of taking a cruise. We hardly felt the rocking due to the stabilizers; they do a great job.

I'm sure there's plenty I've forgetten. As I said earlier, I enjoy taking a cruise. I simply enough the whole experience, including the wonderful port-of-call. It's a great way to see places, whether you join a shore excursion or do it on your own.

What's not to like about going on a cruise? You are pampered and spoilked all the way! It's terriffic! I can't wait to go on the next one.

I have always wanted to go on a cruise. The only reason I haven't is money. I have none. But one day.............

First cruise in 1979--hooked-tried other holidays and vowed ''never again''
Off on tomorrow down to Southampton and sail Thursday-can't wait!

The New "Dolemite"
Well, for one, I haven't had the spare money to go on a cruise. The second reason is that I keep thinking about the movie, "Titanic" and get afraid of being on a cruise ship and it sinking somehow. Me not being able to swim doesn't comfort any either.

I've been on 3 cruises--two with disney and one with the "freestyle" cruiseline (can't recall the name right now). Really enjoyed disney both times (even though both years was the same entertainment). As for the freestyle, I was disappointed. Reservations needed to be made on the first day for resturants and all had strict dress codes. I want to where what I want on my vacation. Not what the resturant wants.

I had no interest in going on one because I figured they were mostly for old people or swingers, and I'm neither of those. But we were given one for a gift, and went, not expecting to enjoy it. It was on Holland America, it was wonderful, loved every minute of it. I did not feel "trapped" like people talk about. The ship is so big there are always out of the way place to explore. It was sometimes an adventure just finding our way around around the ship. The service was wonderful, even the hokey shows were entertaining, and we went every night, I think. Once we come up with the money for another one, will go again.

I have been on 25 cruises and there is not enough to yell you how much I enjoyed each and every one. They all have been to 1 place where you can either cruise first then a land tour or land tour first. All to Alaska. Why? Simple The Natural beauty, wildlife, open spaces plus being on a cruise you check in they bring your luggage to your room, you have a large selection of foods to eat (or try for the first time) always some activities on the ship, plus each day you visit a new port of call with plenty of excursions or you can explore on your own, you meet people from all over the world.
For those you maybe scared they are safer on a cruise ship then on land.
For me the VERY best way to spend your vacation.
Enjoy.

I;m a bit afraid of spending all that money and hating it - being trapped with people I can't stand and rubbish food (I'm not saying it would be like that but if it was - too late!) Not so bad if you're in a hotel, but no escape once your sailing.

Also, lack of "cultural" experiences - not enough opportunities to sit and watch how the world goes by in other places.

Went on the "Oriana" a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a bit of a problem with the 9 metre swell in the Bay of Biscay, but that soon passed.
Couldn't really fault it - the food was very good, the cinema and theatre were excellent, enjoyed the Art lectures and the beauty treatments.
The tours were exceptionally well organised. Would go on P & O again without hesitation, in fact, if we can find something for half way through August next year, we're looking to go again to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

been on 20 cruises and im only 19. ive had the best times of my life on cruises. its relaxing, fun, you get to meet alot of people and its cool to see the world. plus since im 19 now i can take advantage of that drinking age in other countries but we wont go there at first when i cruised i was 8 years old and we were studying about titanic so i was really scared, but when i got on the ship it was fun already. cruise ships are the safest way to travel in my personal opinion. every cruise line i have been on focus alot on health onboard and the safety of their passengers and crew members. I can see why people dont cruise is because they are afraid of being clustrophobic (sp), get sea sick etc. all i gotta say is try it out. the boats are huge, the food is fantastic, the entertainment is stellar, there is always something to do, your in a safe environment, meet many people and you will have a fun time.

I have never been on a cruise simply because its not something my family want to do. I have often questioned them as to why they wouldn't and they say they just don't fancy it. I think its due to there lack of knowledge about cruises though to be honest.

I'd love to go on a cruise - especially one around the Caribbean.

Perhaps one day in the future!

I have been on my first cruse this year in the Maldives, it was ok but very clique , if you are not interested in mixing then on a small boat 30 berth then your stuffed, and if you were on a really big ship then I can imagine you could feel anonymous, there is always the feeling that its going to be like the 1920 movies very snobbish or very easycrouse very 18/30 and of course the fear of being sea sick, i would suppose it would help if it were cheaper , yes the Cruise may be cheap but then add on the booze then the trips of the boat and any added stuff like the gym and the beauty parlor then the cloths shops , there are to many extras, I will stop now before i depress my self , hope this helped.

We went on a cruise for our silver wedding not knowing if we would like it. We've been on 7 since. It's a brilliant holiday, good value for money. Love the food, entertainment, and the fact you see a different place every day. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We are on the point of booking our next one for June to Norway.

Going on a cruise is one of the best experiences one could have. It is also very economical in that providing the ship departs from your port you do not have to fly. There are not weight restrictions like on a plane. You do not have to look for accommodation nor meals since all that is included. If you do not want to spend any money you don't have to and you can eat your belly full.

The best thing is that you get to see many places for your money as oppose to a plane trip.

I went last year for a week on Carnival Destiny and am going in November for two weeks on Sea princess. We only have two days at sea and going to Grenada, Curacao, St. Maarten, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Tortola, Trinidad, Antigua,Montego Bay, Bonaire and Margarita. People should really try one.

There are people in the UK who have never been out of the cities they where born in due to poverty. That aside its probably the threat of food poisoning that puts them off,not to mention seasickness. I went on one in 1969 and it was o.k. Though not going on one since says it all.

I have never been on a cruise, and have never ever wanted to.

I just think they would be so claustrophobic, I would be bored and would fill really penned in, even though I know they make stops etc.

Plus they always bring up images in my head of chavtastic people sunbaking in ill-advised bikinis or screaming kids running around or despo singles drinking cosmos hoping for a forgettable shag in a cabin before they hurl overboard whilst their friends hold their bleached blonde hair back.
