Well the cruise lines all post a What you'll need. Basically as a travel agent you'll want to be trying multiple places on board and going to many of the events. So you'll need bathing suits, tshirt and shorts for all your During the Day wear. I recommend one long sleeve jacket. I find the art auction room to be very cold and sometimes the higher islands (like Bahamas) are very cold when you cruise in the winter. They have about the same temp as Florida.
So bathing suit and casual wear. One long sleeve jacket. Then you dress for dinner. On a 7 day, two suits as two nights are formal. Then the other nights just khakis and a polo or mix and match with your suit pieces. The dress pants and button shirt wtih no tie or whatever.
That's really all you are going to need. The Captain's night is the most formal and often Captain's night has a lot of Prom dresses. But I never see many men in tuxes. The more high end of a cruise you are on the more elegant clothing. Celebrity dresses better than Carnival.
I think the most important thing is the flight luggage requirements. If you fly American I'd try to get it in one suitcase as they are now charging you for each piece of luggage. Since I'm a woman--bathing suits, tank tops and a few sarongs don't take up much room at all so I pack it all in one suitcase. The one real recommendation I have for those that travel all the time is to buy duplicates of all your toiletries. Pack your ditty bag (or whatever you call it) with your travel items and leave it packed all the time. Then you can pack in a super short amount of time and never have to worry about forgetting your toothpaste or razor. |

You need much less than you think and storage room aboard cruise ships is scare. So I would recomend a normal size wheeled bag. Ad a small bag (as one of theese carry on bags that you can take with you on aircrafts) for the belongnings you need the first and last hours of the cruise plus maybe a suitcarrier if youre into that kind of dresses.
My best advice when doing packing is: if you dont think you gonna need it then dont bring it. My second one is: Dont pack more than you can carry some distance. That will help you alot. Johan. |

My husband and I can do a 10 day cruise with 3 days hotel stays connected with only a 25" suitcase and a 22" carry on each. We stay with this combination because of the size and weight limits for the airlines. Cruise ships (so far) do not have any restrictions on amount of luggage you can bring. The only reason we need the 25" is that we bring our own snorkels, masks and fins. We also do both formal nights. |

Being female... I still only take one large suitcase with me.. remember you'll need a formal set, so a suit... case? lol, the suit bags you use to keep your suit nice, would be a good investment along with a large suitcase, possibly two smaller ones, depends what you really need to live for a week. |

Trying to become a travel agent does not matter. Cruise today only suggest you dress formal. I have sailed with Norwegian, Princess & Holland & I only wear jeans. Thats all I own. Today cruise lines have finally realalized that people are on Vacation & do not need someone telling them where & how to do things Plus, today some airlines are charging for checked luggage. So 1 suitcase & 1 medium size carry on. |
