How much money should I bring on a Disney Cruise?

I'm going on a 7 night Western Caribbean Disney Cruise in a few months and I have no idea how much money I should bring for food and extra stuff on the ports. Also, does anybody have gripes about any of the excursions or "can't miss" excursions? And at the ports do you have to do the excursions or can you walk to a lot of the places to see? Thanks for anyone's help!

You should bring no less than 500 no more than $1000.00 When you go off the ship and on shore to sight see and shop. Check out all the area shops and then make your purchases.

Your traveling agent should be able to give you some info on excrusions and even when you get onto shore, you will find available excursions to different destinations at reasonable prices. You are going to have a blast!

You are lucky to come into this much fun. The ship will provide all of your food, beverages, snacks and such, because it is included in your ticket when you made the purchase for the cruise. The only drinks you pay for on the ship are the alcohol drinks.

The Disney Cruise is designed to take you to designated area's where you can walk and explore your new surroundings. Shopping, eating out, taking pics, ect..When I went, I can't believe how many new friends I had made on the cruise. Everyone was so cool, so there is a good chance of that happening to you as well.

Just smile, say hello, and there you go..people will just start talking to you and asking questions like..where are you from?, Is this your first time cruising..it is so cool..

Have fun, take advice from others on this board because they are giving you really good tips, and be safe, do not wander off to area's alone to explore, try to stay with the crowd or in their surroundings. But be safe, use common sense, and have some fun!

Bring what you want to spend. Many places take Master Card and Visa in the ports. Don't eat off the ship. Waste of money and danger of bugs. You do not have to take any excusions. You can arrange your own visit to the ports, but make sure you get back to the ship on time. It will leave without out if you don't.

I have been on three cruises myself and normally we brought just about $500. You can put money on a ship card before hand, which is linked to your credit card. So really you don't have to worry about taking money out. But yeah about $500 for ports and such, depending on how much shopping you would like to do. As for meals on the ship they are free, you don't have to worry about paying for meals it comes with the cruise part of the deal. As for excursions they normally have a list of different things to do with the ship. Be careful and have loads of fun! =)

You are so lucky, I really badly want to go on a Disney Cruise myself, just a cruise in general would be nice.
Some tips:
You should read some of the reviews for the excursions cuz otherwise you don't really know what you are paying for, trust me you could otherwise be disappointed. Also, you don't really pay for anything with cash on the ship, you just assign a credit card to your cruise ship card and pay for everything on the ship with that. At the ports of call you usually don't need that much cash cuz you usually pay for your excursions on the ship and they give you tickets so you only need money for any extra stuff that you might want to buy. I suggest that you go back to the ship to eat instead of eat at the port of calls cuz the food or water isn't always safe to eat and you don't want to end up sick or with food poisioning cus that will just ruin you week. Hope this helps and God Bless. Hope you enjoy your cruise.
