How much will it cost to rent a cruise ship for 5 days and for 400 people?

You probably cannot do that. These ships accomodate much more than that.

To put things in perspective, it costs Royal Caribbean over $1,000,000 in operating costs every day to run the Freedom of the Seas.

Suggest you contact the cruise line for a group rate.

Julie T
You should contact various cruise line's group travel desks for a quote and info on how far in advance you would need to plan in order to reserve 100-200 cabins in cabins are double, triple or quad occupancy You may be able to get in down to less than $500 per head if you book quad rooms.

Remember to add the tips...$10 per day per person.

Make sure you get the group desk to give you some perks for booking such a large group...freebie soda cards, freebie photos, coupons for the spa.

800-CARNIVAL is a good place to start.

...you don't need a 70 ton ship for 400 people...depends on the itinerary and ship.

Mark
You can get a ship just for your group if you like, the cost is going to depend on the cruise line and where and when you want it to go. You could also do a large group on the ship but not be the only people on the ship. If you do the group they will give you a free coctail party and other gifts because of the group size. If you are interested please give me a call and I can help you with this. 888-556-2974

Contact the cruise lines directly. If you want an entire ship, remember itinerary's are planned and published up to 2 years in advance. There are some wonderful smaller ships which can be booked for one group only. Research the type of ship or experience you are looking for, have our dates you need and then call the cruise line directly where they have experts available for such a booking. I once chartered a 737 for a group and it was cheaper than their flying commercial!

it depends on what cruise you go on and what part of the cruise you are going to stay at. Just go to travel.yahoo.com, look at some of the prices and just multiply it by 400 but i doubt they have that many room in one area and the price varies from area but it may require some research. Or just call the cruise line

I don't think you can 'rent' a cruise ship. If you could it would probably cost around $1 million for 400 people and 5 nights. If you want to find out if you can then go to the cruise ships web site and contact them to ask them if you could. Good luck!

Lex
About 2.75 million dollars is my best guess. I would expect you would be paying somewhere around $1000 per person, plus the cost of the gas the ship uses is probably around 1.8 million, the tips for the crew is $20,000, to buy the crew for five days is probably close to $17,000, to buy food is probably about $10,000, and utilities are probably close to $500,000.

Wow i hope you just won the lotto, cuz your gonna need it to pay for a cruise for 400 people

Elizabeth
I really wish I knew. I guess it depends on the cruise ship, the size of it, if you're buying the crew, etc. I'm curious now. Let me know plz when you figure it out. That's a good thing to know.

Some cruises do offer charter services. There are many smaller ones in the UK. The problem is actually finding one that holds 400 people. Perhaps Costa, P&O, Crystal, Cunard, Windjammer....I'm not sure but those are good ones to look into.

400 people is outrageously small for a ship, where are you and what itinerary are you looking for. And its all going to depend on the ship itself. How nice a ship is, how complex it is for the ship to run, how many crew, what the food is...all sorts of things affect the price.

Consider looking for smaller cruise ships online or contacting travel agents. If you are renting the whole one you should have room for negotiation as well.

Though just on a rough estimate--just on my own personal guess--you might could do it for as low as $75,000. But I'm guessing 100,000-300,000.

probably more money than i will see in my entire life.
