How rough is the sea on transatlantic cruises in April? Has anyone got personal experience please?
Did crossings at this time of the year and had wonderful weather - not even saw a wave - and had others where it was rough for 2 to 3 days.
Hard to predict.
Of course it does depend on the ship you are on - where bigger is not always better. It depends on the draught of the ship, the height, the weight ratio.......
You can minimize the effect for you by getting a cabin midship and as well in the middle - between top and bottom

On the newer cruise ships a very rough sea is barely noticiable. The old Victoria of P & O used to roll a bit, but ships, such as the Arcadia, can take enormous seas with no trouble.I was aboard on one cruise, in the upper observation lounge, watching the 70 and 80 foot waves crashing over the superstructure as we headed into it and we felt virtually nothing, its smoother than a bus ride.

Can't speak to cruise ships, but took troop transport in April 1965 over North Atlantic to Germany. It was cold on deck and there was quite a bit of waves.

you barely notice it for most of the ships of today and they all r very safe. Royal carribean's newer fleets can go like 45 dgrees on its side and flip itself up with no trouble
