How to get to America from the UK by ship?

I have chronic Lyme Disease and need to get to America to see my specialist, though I'm not well enough to cope with flying because of the noise and the altitude can make it worse apparently.
My question is; might there be a way to get there by boat? It doesn't matter where from in the UK, my Doctor is in South Carolina but if I got as far as New York by boat, this would be amazing.
I would be able to rest in a cabin, it would be so much easier and safer than flying (I have seizures and stuff..)
My appointment is on 2nd June so I could travel up to a week either side of that, I don't want to ask too much though, If I knew some keywords to search for on Google, that would be a start.
Many thanks!

Cunard's Queen Mary 2 sails from Southampton on 25th May and gets to New York on 1st June at 7:30 am but that wouldn't allow you much time to get to South Carolina. I'm afraid that that is the only crossing from Southampton to New York in May and the next crossing from New York to Southampton is the 19th June.
Search for transatlantic crossing in Google.

You can travel by ocean liner, such as the Queen Mary II, or by commercial ship, such as a container or cargo ship.

You will need to contact the freighter agents asap as you might not be able to book this late.
