We are taking a cruise to Ensenada next month...going on the Paradise, a Carnival Cruise Lines ship...I hear they are one of the better Cruise Lines for having fun...and all inclusive! We can't wait...four of us taking the cruise together! As for where to go, that's up to you; we've had friends go to Alaska and the Bahamas, one's cool and ones hot...just depends on what you like. Have fun where ever you go! ;)

Lindblad cruises are on small ships with very few passengers. They don't have casinos or shopping-- it's all about sight-seeing.

Well, I took a cruise last July! And it was amazing! I would definitly recommend Norweigan Cruise Line. They have what is call Freestyle dinning which is amazing. This means that you can eat wherever, whenever, you want for free! dining is included when you pay for the trip. You normally pay? 10 dollars? for a cover. Or buffet style is totally free. I would have breakfast and lunch at the buffet (which has tons of foods to choose from) and have dinner at one of the 7 resturants. Rooms service is also free. The casino on the ship was huge. Service from the members of the staff is Excellent! I could not has for a friendlier staff. Cash is not exchanged on the ship. you will charge everything on your room key. Cash is only exchanged in the casino. They gave us a newsletter before everyday of the events, shows, games, that go on everyday! So of course you can plan your day accordingly. After the trip they even sent a thank you letter! I went on the Norweigan Dawn that took me from New York to bermuda, the bahamas, and one of their private islands. I would recommend that one and the new ship that they have I think it's called the Pearl? Has a fire and ice tour which goes from the US to Hawaii then to Alaska! Best cruise I've been on! Hope I helped. Good luck! Check out their website!

Carnival Imagination isn't the smallest but it definitely isn't the biggest. i think it was the right size, and i went to jamaica and grand turk...it was more than fun

Well, finally, someone who appreciates the smaller ships!

Everyone's definition of "small" varies, however most lines have at least one "small" ship. Celebrity used to have the Zenith, though that will be replaced by the slightly smaller Celebrity Journey and a yet unnamed sister ship which used to belong to Renaissance cruises. Cunard's QE2 is arguably the most famous "small" ship, though 40 years ago it was quite large. Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Seas is smaller than the rest of their fleet, but very much beloved by that line despite its incongruity with their other "ultra-megaships". Princess has a variety of small ships plowing the waters of unusual destinations, such as the south pacific and South America. Norwegian has the Norwegian Crown, which is by anyone's standards rather small. Holland America Line's Prinsendam is rather tiny as well.

Destination wise, Alaska is an absolute must. Bahamas are nice but forgettable. Ireland would be neat but boring after a bit.

I know about Greek islands cruises, where the cruise lines usually use small ships of up to 600 passengers. I recommend the Web Site http://www.cruise.gr

I send all of my clients on Carnival. They have a huge fleet and variety of destinations.
I am also able to get the best prices for my clients from them.

Carnival and Princess are both mass market low quality cruise lines. They are not "smaller".

Lindblad is a very small ship and it's an adventure vacation. They have loads of biologists and naturalists that lead excursions and teach you about the area. It's not just siteseeing as mentioned, it's about experiencing nature.

Windjammer has some smaller boats that may be more your style.

Well I liked the big ship I was on! And take a Princess cruise to Alaska like I did last summer. (age 10!)
