I'm taking a cruise out of barcelona and need a decent cheap hotel to stay at?

One of my contacts has used the Hotel Principal on several occasions. It is only 2* but behaves superior to that. The rooms are all en-suite and spacious and very clean. Breakfasts are enormous.
It is just off Las Ramblas, halfway down, so you are in the middle of all the fun, easy access to to harbour and also all the tour buses. Definitely worth a look.

look into apartments. We rented a furnished apartment (apartmendardo) for three days, it's the done thing in Barcelona. just go on line to accommodation Barcelona and all sorts will come up. Be VERY careful in Barcelona there are so many Professional pickpockets it's unbelievable. Some as young as 10 years old. and they work in packs where ever there are tourists. also , be prepared to eat dinner late, after 8 pm or even 9 pm. you can get Tapas at most places before then, and my favorite is Egg and Chips but I can't remember what it is in Spanish. Enjoy.

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only

We cruised out of Barcelona on the NCL's Gem last November. WE stayed overnight the day before our cruise at a nice hotel called the Barcelona Princess (http://www.hotelbarcelonaprincess.com/en/index.php ) on Anenida Diagonal 1. The hotel is in a good location, right next door to a shopping mall that has a variety of restaurants. So you can check in, rest and then go look around and get something to eat without having to catch a taxi. The hotel is very nice with modern facilities and features. Its also about 3 block walk from the boardwalk where people go to jog and ride bikes. You can also get the sightseeing bus right on that street in front of the hotel. It is a hop-on-hop-off bus that run a sightseeing route around a part of the city. Its an easy trip by taxi from the Princess to the port, about $15-$20 Euros taxi fare, takes about 20 minutes depending upon traffic.

We stayed there last Nov and will probably stay there again next year when we do another cruise out of Barcelona.

On our first trip to Barcelona we stayed at another nice hotel that's just a few block from the Princess called the Vincci Barcelona Maritimo hotel ( http://www.vinccihoteles.com/en/hotels/spain/barcelona/vincci_maritimo ) This is also a very nice clean and modern hotel also near the same mall and near the tour bus line.

Both of these you will probably pay about about $120 Euros which is about $160 US dollars. Look at both web sites and read reviews on both hotels.

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, and then go to the appropriate board. [I've never needed info about Barcelona, so I'm not sure whether it would be on the "Departures" board or the "Ports of Call" board - maybe both.] You can find info from experienced cruisers on every aspect of cruising at CC.

It sounds like you aren't going to be too particular about the hotel, so you can definitely get something cheap. Your best bet is BookMe.com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. But do it soon b/c a lot of people are going to have the same idea. Good luck!

if you are looking for a cheap hotel reservation, i would recommend you go to http://www.roachenterprise.com. they are by far the best travel agency i have found on the internet, they have unbeatable prices on everything from hotels to cruises to airfare.
