We all get the level of enjoyment from anything that we want to get. So if you are open to new things, and you take full advantage of all amenities offered, your cruise should be enjoyable for you.

Take the time to talk to people and really get to know them. Take advantage of all the on-shore excursions offered. Take along a digital camera, and get lots of photos. Make your experience a memorable one. Have fun. Dance. Party. But bring your morals with you as well.

There have been stories of rapes on board cruise ships. And passengers being "lost at sea". The difference between those scenarios and an enjoyable cruise, seems to be the amount of alcohol consumed. So, don't overindulge. Stay reasonably sober. I always make the point of never ordering drinks that can be contaminated by an outside source (whether you're worrying about germs or date rape drugs the criteria are the same). So order something that comes in a bottle, and ask for it to be opened at the table. Believe me that this is not an unusual request, and should be no trouble for the server...just insist on it. When you place your order you would say "Can I have a bottle of Dos Equis, please, to be opened only at the table?" Most tropical diseases are carried in the ice cubes. Most date rape drugs are added by staff members.

So, be safe. Be alert. But don't let that spoil your enjoyment either.

you will have a great time. you will just be a little further away from all the action. you won't spend much time in your cabin anyway. the crew has no idea which floor you're on, so you will get the same treatment as the people who paid big bucks to stay in the suites. happy cruising!!!

YES! I was on the Voyager of the Seas twice (it is the same class as mariner), and I was on deck 3 both times. You will have a great time on your cruise. I have been to St. Thomas and St. Martin twice as well and they are great. I would suggest going to the beach in St. Thomas and shopping in St. Martin, but that's just my opinion. I wish I was going too.

I am sure you will have alot of fun no matter what stateroom you will be staying. Be sure to plan you day ahead. There are just too many activities on the ship.

I've been on that ship and that particular destination. 3 is kind of low. But if you are in an interior room, they all look the same. If you don't like your room you can always go to the courtesy desk on deck 5 and ask them to change your room. But really you don't spend anytime in your room because there is so much to do on the ship..and most of the rooms look exactly the same!
The only difference will be your view.

You will have a lot of fun in Coco Cay and in St. Thomas and St. Maarten. In Coco Cay rent the floating beach mats. In St. Thomas do the snorkling tour of Turtle Cove. It is was seriously the coolest thing I have ever done. In St. Maarten avoid shopping at all costs. Its a hassel and nothing is as cheap as they tell you it is going to be.

Have fun. You are going to have a blast!

Deck 4 and below are usually for the crew. However on a cruise you spend very little time in your room so do not worry and enjoy. Make sure you check out the buffet and night life aboard ship.

chelebelle722
You will love any Royal Carribean cruise. It won't actually matter where your room is, because you aren't likely to spend a lot of time in it. There is so much to do on the boat that your room will probably just be the place you sleep and get ready for dinner. :-)
