For easy packing: For creams and lotions, I squirt mine in a ziplock bag, enough for my stay. When I am done, it gets thrown away and no extra space or weight. Of course don't do it with real watery lotions or lotions you need large amounts of (sun screen). Double bag for spillage safety.
Take casual clothes you can wash easily. If you go for a full week, it's worth throwing one small load in and rewearing things half way through your trip. Less to pack. I bring a small baggie of laundry detergent (1 cup) and a bounce. I have rinsed my bathing suit, etc.
The gift shops are very limited on gum and candy. Bring some gum and mints, etc. Yes - they have tons of food, but I craved a Reeses cup forever!
