I am going on a cruise soon and i was wondering, do they give a iron in your stateroom?

Most cruise lines will NOT give you an iron in your cabin and also will not allow you to have one in the cabin; its one of the prohibited items for obvious safety reasons (chance of someone carelessly leaving it on). BUT, some cruise ships DO have a self-service laundry and will allow you to use an iron in that facility. Other cruise ships that I have been on with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, and Princess DO NOT have a laundry but they all do provide laundry service (very expensive too).

So you really have consider what cruise line to determine whether they have a self-service laundry and iron available.

PS: I always take a very small travel iron and keep it completely hidden; use it, cool it and put it away.

No. However, most ships have a self-serve laundry area where you can take something and iron it. The few ships who do not have that available offer laundry and pressing services at an additional cost.

I'm not sure which cruise line you are sailing with, but Carnival does not provide a iron. I went to wal-mart yesterday and purchased a travel iron for $15. It's nice and small. Have a great time on your cruise mines leaves on SUNDAY!

There are no irons in your cabin because of fire hazard. They do have hair dryers though. What they do have is a self serve laundry room where they have boards and irons set up for your use. Then like any launder mat, the also have washing machines and dryers that, of course you can use for a few quarters. On a cruise longer then 7 days, I always plan on using the laundry room. You can also have them press your stuff for a charge and clean them too if you wish. I have only cruised with Princess and ever ship I have been on had laundery rooms.

Not on Princess but they have a laundery room where you can do your washing/ironing

No, they do not want you to have anything like that . It could cause a fire. The cruiseline will offer a laundry service that can wash and dry your clothes. They will also press them for you and deliver them back to you room, at the time you request them.

l always sneak a full size iron in my suitcase and have never had a problem. It always clears Security. Just remember to keep it hidden when your not using it.

You might want to try a travel steamer.
