Girl In the South
* bathing suit of course and a cover up that could also be used as jacket to keep warm on cooler evenings
*one pair darker colored jeans that can be dressed up or down depending on the top, shoes and accessories
*comfy shoes like sandals (you could get nice sandals that are both casual/dressy depending on what you wear with them like these http://www.payless.com/Catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?&TLC=Womens&SLC=WomensSandals&BLC=WomensSandalsTrendy&Width=Regular&ItemCode=59944&LotNumber=061427&Type=Adult&Popularity=239&DescriptiveColor=Black
*sundress like this that could be casual or nice

* one pair of shorts
*one t shirt to go with shorts/jeans
*a tunic type shirt that will be light and flowy and cool and go with shorts and jeans
Stick to a matching color palette so everything will coordinate
* sunglasses (hat?)
*SPF
*a cute tote bag for a purse

I have gone on a lot of cruises before. I have been on a Carnival cruise before. It is a cruise for kids, there are kids every where. I am the same age so I know what you need. First on carnival cruises you don't have to get dressed up to much, for dinner. A cute skirt, not to formal shoes and a shirt, that's all you need for dinner. When you are on the beach you need a swim suit, sun glasses, towel, and a lot of sun tan lotion, because it is July and it is going to be hot. For the rest of the cruise you can wear shorts and a T-shirt. Have fun!

Hardly anyone dresses UP for dinner, but you should bring a couple of nice outfits for night. I suggest a pair of black pants with a halter top and shrug or light jacket. Black pants are essential and can be paired with a white blouse or sweater for another evening. You'll look classic, cool and chic.
A pair of khaki shorts can go with the white blouse, the sweater or the buttoned-up jacket.
It will not be cool in July, but if it is, wear the sweater or jacket. Take a couple of bathing suits and a coverup for traveling to and from the ship. I like to take a pair of slip-on capri pants and that same jacket and wear the bathing suit underneath. Leave the jacket open and it looks like a cute top, not a bathing suit top. Then, I can go shopping in town on the same day that I hit the beach.
Wear comfortable shoes. It is essential. Sandals go from day to night. A white pair and a black pair are all you need. Take along a chic nail color for your toenail touch-up.
Carry a canvas bag with a zip pocket to hide your ship card and id. It should have straps long enough to go over your shoulder. Then, have a small black bag for evening and days on the boat.
Accessorize with jewelry, a colorful scarf or bag and three outfits can look different every day. You don't want to take so much time fixing up that you miss the fun!

Call me up. I'll be right over to help you pack. I'll even bring an extra suitcase.
