You are going to have the best time. What a treat for you and your brother. My son went on his first cruise when he was 8 and we have been on many since he is now 14 and we just got back from yet another. He loves it. He likes room service in the morning then we go to breakfast. (He likes room service after dinner for desert too) Then he will go to shore with us or go to the video room where he meets other kids and hangs out, or go to the pool. The ships have kids clubs and they have fun things like scavenger hunts. You will have the time of your life, I understand your fear but the ships of today are very safe. Depending on where your going you won't be the only ship out there. Most of the time you can always see another ship within eye shot.

ok, that movie is just a made up story. The cruise ships these days are very very safe. There are great activities for teens, kids and older kids on all these ships. You should probably have a great time.

Princess is correct. You can not bring a dog. Only Cunard cruise lines allows dogs and they are kept in a kennel the whole time. You can take them out for a walk, but only in a specific area and not to your cabin. Now the other thing you worried about. Yes the titanic did sink, but that was like 90 years ago. Movies that you see about ships sinking or being hit by a big wave are just that movies. When you go on a cruise, the trip is so smooth that most of the time you can't even feel the ship move. It is an absolutely wonderful vacation that should not be missed. I have been on 9 cruises and never felt safer then on a ship. Oh, just for your information, no modern ship has sunk except for some small Italian ship in Europe. Princess, Royal Caribbean, celebrity, and carnival all have perfect records as far as their ships go. They have had other problems, but no sinking. Your safety is of the up most importance to the cruise companies. So please go on a cruise and don't worry about a thing.

i have been on a cruise every winter since i was 5. Nothing has happened to me. There aren't waves that can knock down a huge boat. Sorry but animals aren't allowed on a boat either. Plus they have very careful safety procedures. GOOD LUCK!

Relax. First, there is no cruiseline that lets you bring your dog. It wouldn't be fair or pleasant for her.

Second, the Titanic happened in 1912 or so. No cruise ship that makes port in the US has sunk since.

Thirdly, the people who died did so by either being locked in the third class section or of hypothermia because the water was so cold and there were not enough lifeboats. There are NO classes on modern ships. Today they are required to have lifeboat space for every soul on board, both passengers and crew. Also , even if you did go into the water in the Caribbean you could float for hours (with your lifevest) with no harm whatsoever.
