Big Philly

I want to buy cruise tickets, what is the cheapest you can get for one?

I know cruise salesman are definately salesman, and they never quote me the right price. I've gotten 200-300-400. I want to go out of L.A. or possibly Texas to Cancun or Cabo San Lucas. Do you know what I can do price-wise. And I also might bring like 8-15 people

Basically speaking you should get the same price from all travel agents for each of the different cruises, almost all of the cruise lines have rules that travel agents can not advertise a cruise for less then their currently published prices. So if you are looking at a Royal Caribbean cruise on the Vision of the Seas to the Mexican Riviera on January 6th the price you get from the cruise line and the price you get from any travel agent will be the same. Prices will vary based on your date of departure, which ship you are on, which cruise line, where you are going, length of the cruise, etc. So the prices you are quoted will vary based on all those criteria and more.

Now you mentioned that you would like to make the plans for a group of people, and that is importany because the travel agent or cruise line can get you a group rate, but first you have to pick the date and itinerary.

I would say at this point your biggest question should be "Should I use a travel agent, go directly to the cruise line, or use an online booking service?" and my best suggestion is to contact a travel agent specializing in cruises. The travel agent works for you and will help you get all of your arrangements in order. The cruise line of course will help you but they may not look at alternatives to some of your plans and the online booking engines are complete do it yourself services.

Do your homework- shop around just like you would anyother thing. Try online companies first www.cruise.com, orbitz, travelocity, and then contact the seller direct. Working with an online company in my opinion is the best that way you are only working with ONE agent. best of Luck, S

It can range from 200 to 400 per person. But if you are going to bring 15 other people with you and be willing to be the go between from the group and the agent you can sail for only the tax and port charges, which will save you lots.

As someone else said, the cruise lines set the prices not the agents, so you should get the same price just about everywhere. If you get a really low price see if it includes the port charges, taxes, fees and fuel....many agents do not add this to their price until you book to get your interest. Also be careful of someone trying to lower the price just to get you to book and then you not being able to speak to them again, this can be a really bad thing if you are going to do a group cruise. This will happen with many websites.

No matter what use a travel agent or cruise specialist like me!

A really good travel site for booking cruises is with
"Amazing Tours and Travel"

http://www.amazingtoursandtravel.com and click on "book travel"

The cost of your cruises will depend on when you want to depart. The summer months (June-Aug) and the Christmas Season (Nov-Dec) are more expensive. It will also depend on how many days you want your cruise to be and what type of cabins (Ocean views are more than inside cabins). In regards to large groups, on some cruise lines, if you have a group of people (sometimes 10 or more), one of the cabins will be free. However, each cruise company is differnet. Also, in addition to cruises out of Los Angeles, there are cruises out of Long Beach and San Diego.

I hope this info helps. I am sure that if you call the phone number on the website provided above, someone will be able to help you,

Good luck and have a great time cruising.
