First, you need to know that the cruise lines have age policies that you need to be aware of. All of the cruise lines except Carnival require that at least one person in each cabin be age 21 or older. Carnival's requirement is age 25 or older. So unless one of you is age 25 you can go on any cruise line other than Carnival.
Carnival is the budget cruise line that most young people and first time cruisers go on. If you meet the age requirement you will likely find a good reasonably priced cruise on one of their ships.
Royal Caribbean is the cruise lines that also typically has a lot of young cruisers and cruisers with families. RC ships have the most on-board activities and are thus more fun than many other ships. You can cruise on them at age 21 or older. RC also offers deals and specials that you should look for and at. These can save you hundreds of dollars for the exact same cruise on different dates. So to get the best price go when the price is lowest. Also, cruise lines give the best prices for very early bookings; early means a year or more in advance.
Norwegian cruise line is another cruise line to consider for a good cruise at a reasonable price. They are the cruise line you want to go on if you want to be pretty much informal for the whole cruise.
My recommendation to you is this. The cruise line that has the most on-board activities would be Royal Caribbean and the ships that you should look for cruises on are the RC's Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships:
You can look at the features of these ships on these two web links:
Freedom Class:
http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...
Voyager Class:
http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...
Both of these type ships have things like ice skating, roller blading, mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, and the rock climbing wall. The Freedom class ships have THE best gyms of any cruise ship. I have cruised on both of these type ships multiple times and they are fabulous. The Voyager class ships are a somewhat smaller version of the Freedom class and have a few things that are different.
You can get cruises on these ships out of Port Canaveral, Ft Lauderdale, and Miami, Florida and also out of Puerto Rico. |

If you want the lowest price you have to book early, you also than get more choice in stateroom. The next way to get the best price you should book thought the cruise line but some times the price can be cheaper on another website or travel agent. Some of the cheapest cruise lines around are carnival, Royal Caribbean, P&O cruises Australia and smaller companys but have ships than ar alot smaller.
P&O cruises Australia travels out of Sydney and Brisbane with cruises to the South Pacific and New Zealand. Carnival leaves from Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Diego, Ensenada, Galveston, New Orleans, Mobile, Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Jacksonville, Charleston, Norfolk, New York, Whittier, Honolulu, San Juan, Rome And London. While Royal Caribean and Princess do not have as many Ports to leave from they still have alot more than P&O and most cruisde lines. P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Royal Caribbean and Carnival all have great value and take people of all ages on their great cruises.

My best advice is to ask a travel agent. Prices vary enormously according to the kind of stateroom you want, the length of the cruise, your destination, and the month you intend to travel. To find out for yourself, you can go the cruise line web sites. Just google the following:
Princess cruises
Royal Caribbean cruises
Holland America cruises
Carnival cruises
There are also age restrictions; some only allow 21+ while others only allow 25+ if unaccompanied by an older person.
The travel agent won't charge you (at least mine doesn't) for booking cruises. I've been on several cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska and along the St. Lawrence river in Quebec. I LOVE cruising, and I think you will too. |

To get the best price it depends on where you are located. It will save you money if you have a debarkation port near you and you don't need to pay for airfare. Here is a website where you can search all of the cruise lines to compare:
http://www.vickigreentravel.com
I think most of the main cruise ship lines are nice - but it all depends on what you like to do and what you are expecting. If it's within your price range, I recommend getting a stateroom with a balcony, but if it's not in your price range you can always watch the sunset from a deck and then go to your cabin.
I think you will have a great time! |

It all depends on which cruiseline you check. The 3 major lines for young couples is Royal Caribbean, Carnival and NCL. As far as the 25 year age limit with Carnival, the way their rules read, if you are under the age of 21 then you have to have someone in your cabin 25 years old or older. But 2 21 year olds can sail with Carnival. Royal Caribbean and NCL have the 21 year age limit.
The most economical cruiseline is Carnival, the price is sometimes 2-3 hundred dollars less then the other lines, but all lines are always running some type of special.
Best advise, find a good Cruise Specialist agent and tell them your budget, always book early, because if the price goes down and you qualify for it, then your agent can get it adjusted for you.
The days of finding those last minute cruises at a deep discount is about over, during the summer most cruiselines pull out of the Caribbean, so most ships are going completely full. They cannot afford to go partially full anymore due to the fuel increases. Also, if you book early and the cruiseline decides to raise the fuel supplement, it will not affect you, since you have already booked and deposited. Also check with an agent to see if they have any great deals on group spaces. Most blocked space is released at least 70 days prior to sailing, but agents do tend to block this space off someitmes 18 months out so they can offer you some great pricing along with possible on board credits and special amenities. |
