I want to work on a cruise ship!?

I'm looking for a job on a cruise ship, hopefully paid in £ as I currently live in the UK. I've looked on loads of websites and a lot of them seem to come back to International Cruise Services who charge about £30. Does anyone know any place that recruits to the cruise industry for free? Has anyone used International Cruise Services and have any tips or advice?

I am from the UK (LONDON)

You need to contact the cruise lines directly. On their web sites you will find a link to jobs, employment, human resources or some such link that will give you information about their positions. Some sites even have current vacancies they are recruiting for. Several cruise lines have new ships coming out soon so opportunities will be there. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Disney and some others will have new ships launched in the next couple years.

Here are some links:

The luxury cruise lines are:

Other cruise lines that most people go on:

ROYAL CARIBBEAN:

CARNIVAL:

Then there are some that operate out of Europe:

COSTA:

I know that on Royal Caribbean's site if you go to the bottom of their home page and click on OUR COMPANY it will take you to a page where career opportunities are listed by category: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ourCompany...

Then there are more links that will let you see and download job requirements. Celebrity Cruise line is a RC affiliate and so you should be able to get similar information from them the same way. here's a link to their jobs page: http://www.celebritycruises.com/aboutcel...

Here's Norwegian Cruise line: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/cruiser/cmsPag...

Another thing to do is to contact the concession that run the shops on the ships like the souvenir, gift and clothing shops. Below are links for you.

Johan from Sweden
I wouldnt pay anything if I would you. I guess its the same thing here that its for agents. So no pay. The best way is to look at the cruise lines web pages and seek out work for us or simular. Or you wanna try out agents/ personal companys that the cruise lines use.

But since youre living in a high pay country I must warn you that youre in one hell of a competition with low sallery countries like india or pakistan. For jobs that doesnt require quallified education youre almost out from the start. Johan.

Think you have the skill and vision to be a part of our future? For opportunities in our Corporate Office or Shipboard opportunities, please select a department below.

Important Notice: Recently, we have been made aware of fraudulent advertisements that have appeared in the classified section of newspapers in certain markets around the country concerning cruise ship employment.Â

The advertisements, which are part of an employment scam, provide a fax number and e-mail address where applicants can send a resume to apply for a shipboard job position. Applicants are contacted via telephone, advised that they have been hired by Carnival Cruise Lines, and asked to wire money to cover the cost of a "uniform deposit," which is then pocketed by the perpetrators of the scam.

Please be advised that these fraudulent ads are in no way endorsed by or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines. We encourage interested persons to apply directly to Carnival Cruise Lines by following the instructions on this web-site for the specific position being offered.

We went on a Cruise 6 months ago to the Cari bean from Southampton, and unless you were entertainment staff, none of them were English, they tend to employ there staff from the Philippines as it is a lot cheaper for them to do this.
