If my boyfriend and I are 18 can we book a cruise with DISNEY? |
I will be 18 in June and he is already 19. We are looking to take a cruise in July. I heard that Disney is the only cruise line that allows 18 year olds to book and cruise alone. I have tried to look on their site to see it in writing but I couldnt find it! I would appreciate any information and possibly advice from someone who has traveled with Disney when they were 18! Thank you! |

You are right the site is very confusing. What the Terms actually say is that if you aren't yet 18, you must have someone 21 years old in your stateroom.
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/reserve/genericText?name=TermsAndConditionsPopUpPage
Cruise Savvy does list it right off the top that Disney still allows 18 year olds to book cabins.
http://www.cruisesavvy.com/savvyguide/introduction_to_cruises/cruise_faq/are_there_age_restrictions
Vacations to go confirms that.
http://www.vacationstogo.com/cruise_age_requirements.cfm
As you can also see from that, Disney is not the only line that will allow you to book though it very well might be the most affordable of those options.
When you book you give them your birth date as well so it's always a good idea to verify that they have not changed their policy since the sites published that. |

Your intending to spend money and break out those new found credit cards, just seeking a little quality time and some fun in the sun.
Nice!
Travel agents are the professionals you want to seek, be transparent and ask their advice, that's what they do for a living. For the extra % on the overall cost of this adventure, the details involving service, choice of staterooms, dinning room considerations, tipping policies,(it's the questions you don't ask and arrangements you have failed to make in advance that become "alacarte" when your at sea! Believe me, you'll save money in the long run and feel relaxed that you have had a professional dot the i's and cross the t's explaining what all inclusive obligations Carnival is responsible to provide, tipping policies, your transportation to and from the ship, any tours you may be interested in taking etc.etc.
Inviting stress and paranoia as a travel companion is no way to begin a shared vacation. Feeling like you've done something viewed as unethical or possibly illegal , subjecting yourself and your boyfriend to these unpleasent feelings while traveling. (The financail stress and paranioa are not a good travel companions!)
Adventure is a good thing, Shared nightmares are a bad thing!
You and your boyfriend can collect the information and always choose to leave before laying out the credit cards. If you commit atleast you'll have a realistic idea of the entire costs from your house to your house!
Advice: Tell your boyfriend "Don't listen to "Wayne from Wayne's World on this one "Dude"!
Good Luck!
Bring the Nikon, take pictures with people in them, always keep a copy of your passport or ID on your person when leaving the ship, don't leave cocktails unattended and above all don't drink the crap complementary Champaign provided by the ship on sail away, not worth the feeling of being (hung!) |
