No. Ships will generally coordinate visa agreements in advance for those ports that require an active visa process for travelers, whether or not you get off the ship.
And technically speaking, most international laws dictate that you have formally entered a country only upon touching dry land. Parking at the ocean doesn't count. |

Yes, You do!! You STILL have to prove your citizenship on Embarkation of the ship. Just because you board in , say, Miami Fl., doesn't mean your from the U.S.A. |

If you have your passport and you are from a country that is a signator to the VISA WAIVER PROGRAM then you will just be waved through on the basis of your passport... they probably won't even bother to stamp the VISA on your passport if you are on from a cruise ship.
You do understand the VISA is that STAMP you get at immigration.. it's stamped on your PASSPORT in the places marked "VISAS"... right? |

Technically, perhaps not. But as it would complicate the ship's paperwork if some passengers did not have a visa, you may find that the cruise company insists that you have one anyway. Consult the cruise company. |

Yes you still do need a visa for the countries that you dock at, the crew do not check to see who has visa's to visit countries it would take far too long disembarking and checking anything up to 2000 people each time so you would need to do this prior to your cruise and carry papers around with you if you do disembark |
