Holland America is mostly patronized by senior citizens. I doubt if they have a late show because seniors go to bed early. In my book, the best cruise line sailing is Celebrity, but then they do cost more.

Hi, I was on Holland America last year going to Mexico. We had the late dinner because there was just so much to do during the day. Yes, there is usually only one show however, on those nights we just ate at the buffet (which is almost exactly the same food you get in the sit down restaurant).
They have daily drink specials every day. The waiters are incredibly wonderful and will remember your name and what you like throughout the entire cruise. I really enjoyed Holland America- the food is so much better than on the Carnival. I hope you'll enjoy it!!! I loved it!!!

No, they don't have two shows after each dinner. If you have late dinner, which will end about 10 p.m., you go to the early show. Early diners go to the late show.

I think they do have drinks of the day, but I'm not sure. Holland is not a big "party" ship. It's a very traditional cruise line and does have a lot of "older" passengers, although on a seven-day cruise that would not necessarily be true. We've done two 10-day cruises on Holland and there were many "seniors", but there were also a lot of 30s-40s, too. People will tend to dress up more on Holland than on Carnival and the ship will be much quieter. It will also be more beautiful - no Vegas glitz and constant announcements about belly-flop contests.

Also check out "Reviews", especially member reviews - the Eurodam has gotten very mixed reviews, but this may be because the Eurodam is perhaps a little less in the usual Holland tradition.

1. Holland America is the absolute best cruise line by far. Each night they usually have two shows. On early in the evening and one later on into the night. There are three options for dining in the dining room. You can have the early sitting (5:45), the late sitting (7:45) or the As you wish dining. That means you sign into the dining room whenever you like for dinner. If you have the early sitting, you go to the late show. If you have the late sitting, you go to the early show.

2. HAL doesn't have drinks of the day that i'm aware of. However, you can get special drinks in the bars and they do have special drinks during certain parties (ex Bon Voyage) Compared to any other cruise line, HAL has the best quality overall for what you pay. The food is great, the ships are clean, they have the friendliest staff on board and there's always lots to do on board. Don't be intimidated by the fact that there is usually a large senior population on board. There are things to do and people to meet for all ages.

I have cruised on HAL before and I would recommend no other cruise line, none compare!!!!
