NCL have names that are an "earthy" element. Sun, Dawn, Sky. Carnival names all their's kinda snobbish names--Pride, Triumph, Glory, Valor. RC just puts "of the Seas" after any word. And the most popular boat names are ones that make you think of vacation. Words like Escape, Serenity, Tropical Breeze. Going with Rocks you could name yours types of rock. Or gemstones. There are so many gemstones that you could have an entire fleet.
I would like a name that is actually a little more rocking. Of course it has to be an edgy ship with entertainment that is more hard rock as well. Pick a great line out of your favorite band's song. Pearl Jam fan calling it "Even Flow". Anything lounge I think would be cool b/c of the double meaning Lounging by the pool and The lounge with music.
For me I like something that has a bit of humor to it. A lot of the beach houses at Myrtle Beach are like that. Hazel's child. (Hurricane Hugo in 89 was called Hazel's Child. It was probably rebuilt after Hugo). Pier Pressure. (just a cute pun). "Sounds like ____" for things that are on the sound. My boat is named Vixen's lounge. It's a play on my name.
As for the hotel, the same name would work since you want it to be edgy, rock n roll, but also relaxation and vacation. I'm not sure the theme park. That would be a lot harder since theme park and lounge, relax, escape, serenity don't really go together. Perhaps the song lyrics of a screamo band. That fits rollar coasters better.

Hell, why don't you totally go for the gusto. Design Titanic II for the upcoming centennial. Cunard doesn't seem to be doing anything like that. April 2012 is fast approaching. You'd have so many people wanting to sail, it would make your head spin. Not suggesting a replica of the original, but a modern ship that includes 3 fake funnels for looks. |
