I've been on both lines, although not those exact ships. There is lots of good advice to get details of your ship and the places you will be going from cruisecritic.com. Only some of your time will be on the boat though - it's important to also consider where the boats are going in making up your mind.
I find that Royal Caribbean seems to be a little more formal and elegant in cruising. The boats I've been on haven't felt like Spring Break at Sea. I just tend to find it a little classier overall. It's been my experience that RC staterooms are smaller though
The Carnivals have been bigger floating parties - which isn't negative at all, it's a good time to be had. The biggest negative I send toward Carnival is that the whole time I am on the boat I feel like I'm being sold to: play bingo, buy drinks, buy pictures, buy shore excursion . ..sell sell sell . .it got annoying fast. |

Ive been on the triumph and had an awesome time. My son was was almost 18 at the time was pretty much AWOL the whole trip hanging out with the people he met on the boat. Ive been on 6 cruises and prefer Carnival to RCCL but everyoint has thier own likes and dislike. Im not sure what the drinking age is on the island but its 21 on the ships. |

If you are trying to choose between those three ships, I would recommend the Navigator of the Seas.
The Navigator of the Seas does four and five night cruises. The Carnival Triumph does only one week cruises and the Carnival Liberty does six and eight night cruises. All three ships offer non-stop activities and are geared toward younger active passengers.
However, you say that you "wanna do stuff" and the Navigator of the Seas is about 1/3 larger than the Triumph and about 1/4 larger than the Liberty. As a result the Navigator has more to offer. The Navigator has a rock climbing wall, an inline skating track and an ice skating rink. None of these are available on any Carnival ship.
While all three ships have pools, the Carnival ships do have something that the Royal Caribbean ships do not have - an adult sized water slide. Also, the Liberty (but not the Triumph or the Navigator) has a large outdoor movie screen ...

As for shore excursions, all the ships offer similar shore excursions. So take a look at the itineraries. You might find one that is more interesting than the others. If so, take that cruise. |

I don't have an opinion on which cruise you should take. I DO, however, have some words of wisdom:
STAY OUT OF THE HOT TUB!!!
The reason there are so many sicknesses on those cruises is because so many different people use the same hot tub. That is a breading ground for some real NASTY stuff. There are a lot of other things you can do to have fun.
You'll love the cruise. I spent a few years in the Navy, and loved every minute of it!
And YES, it is true... watch for dolphins. They follow the ship like you're the "Mack Daddy of the sea!" |

I have been on many cruises and if you are looking to have a great time I would suggest the Carnival cruise line. Carnival is known for its "Fun Ships". I've been on both the Liberty and the Triumph and had tons of fun on both. Your best bet would be to go to Carnival's website www.carnival.com and read up on both ships and see which ship has what you are looking for. I'm sure you will have a great time on either of the Carnival ships. Have fun and remember.....What happens at sea, stays at sea.......LOL! |

We have been on the Royal Caribbean Navigator, the Adventurer and the original Voyager of the Seas. Twice we went with friends with older teens your age they liked they Voyager class of ship better than any other ship they had been on. There is so much to do on the Voyager class of ships that it will blow your mind. You can hit the Dungeon and party all night. The casino is open any time you are at sea, games start at a nickel. The cafe on the promenade deck is open 24 hours a day. The fitness center is on the same deck as the pools. There is a teen disco, a rock climbing wall, inline skating, basketball, and mini golf. Did I mention the sun bathing while at sea...I forgot that...think of a football field covered with lounge chairs. Thats about how much deck space there is for sun bathing.
At port there are excursions ranging from snorkeling, to para sailing. Check their site for information. |

I've cruised with carnival and royal caribbean and prefer royal caribbean. The carnival ship had no onboard activities, the nightlife was nonexistent, the food and service were horrible. Others I have talked to about carnival have said similar things. On royal the atmosphere was the total opposite. There were always activities ranging from salsa lessons, ice skating, movies in the theater, to wine tastings and scrap-booking lessons. Also the nightlife was great. They have a bunch of bars and lounges playing all types of music from hip hop, country, even latin. No matter what your taste you could find somewhere to go and enjoy yourself. Also the service was excellent, staff was very helpful and friendly. And the food was great and had lots of variety. Check the cruise lines websites to sea what activities and features the ship offers. Also check cruise critic. com reviews. |

Never been on RC - and probably wouldn't go, based on what I've read about it, but I'm not 18, so.... I have been on Carnival several times [on Triumph's "sister", the Victory]. Carnival can be a "fun" cruise, but your age might be difficult, since you're too old for the teen activities. One of our sons was that age when we went and he had a good time but was kind of "in between" as far as finding things to do. And I assume your parents will have some ideas about what they want from the cruise.
A good source for info about cruises is CruiseCritic.com - click on "Boards" and also on "Reviews" to get a feel for what the different ships are like. There are also books on cruising at your library. |

Carnival either way is your best bet RC is a little messed up but Carnival is very good with things that you want to have and help you set it up just like you planed it to be. They are family and friend orientated and they have very kind staff and great food I would choose Carnival Liberty its a great ship :) |
