Im going on a cruise next week the 14th for our honeymoon, what happens when a hurricane hits or is out there? |
do they cancel the cruise, or what will happen? i know its 11 days away but im in savannah ga and we have to storms heading straight for us, hannah and ike right behind, and we leave out from port canaveral fla. so i dont know what to expect never really crossed my mind until now. So has anyone ever been through this? the cruise is a 4 day to nassau and freeport bahamas. any info would be helpful thanks!! |

If a storm like a hurricane is coming thru the port of your departure, they would cancel the cruise. But if the port is fine but say Nassau is being hit with a bad storm, then they would most likely divert the cruise ship to elsewhere. Also you need to know that if a cruise is canceled which is rare, they may not give you your money back, but instead give you like a rain check for another cruise. Very few cruises get canceled though. |

very few cruises get cancelled.
if the hurricane is coming right thru the port it may be cancelled.
however most times the cruise line diverts the ships from the area, and continues on with the cruise.
i would call your travel agent and or the cruiseline you booked with.

They would cancel the cruise...
if the tornado comes DURING the cruise they will detect it and change course i think. |
