I doubt you need to be worried about motion sickness. The ships of today are so large compared to those of yesteryear. There can be a little motion of the ocean during windy times. If there is any doubt, get some Bonine and wrist bands at Wal-Mart before the cruise as the on board boutique over charges for these items.
You are going to have so much fun that you won't be preoccupied about any bad stuff.
Just tell yourself that you're going to have a blast.
Bon Voyage!!! |

patch works for some. some like the dramamine.
I would go to your doctor and get something.
and then also talk to a good pharmacist.
have a great cruise
and a good day

i normally get sick too
but the only times i ever felt it on a ship was in the morning when i just got out of bed and was in my room for a while getting dressed and leaning over to get to my stuff
i owuld just get a headache, never a stomach ache
if you do feel sick just go on the top deck and the fresh air will help you and look out too, that helps me
after a few days you get SO used to it and it wont even phase you |

I, too, get sick in cars and in airplanes. However, I seldom am ill on board a ship. Notwithstanding the above, I did get very ill in the Bay of Biscay -- that's almost always very rough water -- and got some pills that really, really worked for me! It is called Promethazine (Phenergran), and is available by prescription, so see your doctor, get a prescription, fill it, and enjoy your trip! |

I like the patch and dramamine. Something to be aware of while on the cruise though is that you won't feel it like you would in a different boat. Cruise boats have these wing like things that extend underwater to stabilize the ship whenever it goes off balance. Don't get me wrong you will still feel it a little bit but not as bad as you think! Also If you get seasick a lot I would recommend being on the lower floors of the boat because you won't feel it as well there!! My brother is infamous for getting horrible motion sickness and he was just fine on the cruise! Have fun you're going to have a blast!
P.S. The website that I have attached talks about the ship stabilizers!

I too was so sure I would get sick as soon we departed, I asked for dramamine from the pursers desk.....never used it though.
But we all got very dizzy a couple of hours after the cruise...... felt like the floor was moving. Was funny once I knew I was ok.
They have stuff if you need it. Don't worry, you truely don't feel it move and the cruise at night anyways. |

I use the sea band bracelets and they work great.
I also use the patches just behind the ear and they are wonderful, no one knows you are wearing it unlike the bracelets and it really works good if you get the Rx ones, have not tried any over the counter brands. Plus they last for 3 days or at least mine do so you don't have to think about it. Apply a few hours before you start the trip since it takes time to work.
Dramamine works but wears off quicker and I use it to help control vomiting when pain is real bad. It works good but beware if you drink it seems to slow the effects of alcohol then wham it hits you as soon as the pill wears off =)
Have fun on the cruise and May you be blessed. |
