Melba Toast

Interior or Exterior Room for Cruise =)?

Yup just saying is it worth the extra ka-ching or no. A lot of people say you spend barely any time in it but well I dont like tiny places.

FYI, we are going on the Liberty of the Seas so if you can give me some tips for that ship!

Your cabin is going to be tiny whether it inside or ocean view. I personally always go with inside (over 30 cruises) however, sometimes I have been upgraded to an ocean view. I don't like the ocean view because the sun comes in earlier than I want to get up. Even though the drapes are heavy, it gets in. I would spend the extra money on getting a better location (more mid-ship) rather than on ocean view. I was just on Liberty in December and they have what is called an Atrium cabin. They have a window but it looks out into the inside of the ship. Those rooms are great for watching the parades and other activities that go on down in the promenade. They cost very little more than the regular inside cabins and make reduce your feeling about tiny places. The Liberty is a fantastic ship and has a great crew and cruise director. The even have a dinner mystery theater that is lots of fun and no extra cost. There is not extra cost for the rock climbing wall, the ice skating or the flow rider and they are all fun. Any other questions contact me through my website below.

I don't care what people say...those inside rooms are claustrophobic. Having an ocean view is absolutely essential as far as I'm concerned. You wake up in the morning and stare out at the sea, watch the flying fish etc. Of course, the BEST way to go is with a balconey. Yes, it's worth the price. The steward will bring you breakfast or just coffee when you wake up and then you can sit and watch the water or read, have cocktails in the evening before dinner, it's so relaxing and private.

Is it really worth it??????
Our first cruise was inside, second was outside with window, 3rd to 12th balcony. It's worth while to us. But we also nap during afternoon and we like a lot of natural light. We also prefer natural ventalation not piped in air.
The only way to really find out is to do both.
You are paying your bills, therefore you need to decide for yourselves.
Have fun on your cruise, we always do.

Depends on your personal preference. I tend to be claustrophobic and have had no trouble with an inside room. The only "plus" to an outside room is that you have the natural light so you know whether it's night or day, and you can tell whether or not it's raining! The windows do not open, so the only way you can get "fresh air" in your room is to have a balcony. If you can get the outside room for the same price you can get an inside, then go for it [you'd be on a lower deck if the outside room is the same price - the higher up you go, the higher the price]. The inside and outside rooms will be more or less the same size - very small. Be sure and take a clock or watch - there are none in the room.

You can get lots of info on your specific ship - and even "meet up" with other passengers on your cruise - at CruiseCritic.com. Click on "Boards" and go to the Royal board. The "Roll Call" board will have other fellow passengers. [You'll need to join CC to access that board, but it's free.] Also check out the "Ports of Call" board. At the top of the home page you might also want to check out "Reviews" and read member reviews of your ship.

Have a great trip!!

I am going on Liberty of the Seas in two weeks, actually less, and I got a Junior Suite. I don't want to be in a "closet" when I am in the room. It is so small. Plus, the interior is no window, so you have no way of knowing where you are, and no natural light in the room. Always depend on lights. In exterior, sometime you have a balcony, in a junior suite and above. It is more expensive, but I think it is worth it. The interior room is only 152 sq. feet. That's tiny! The junior sweet is 317 sq. feet, and the balcony is 101 sq.feet. That is almost as big as the interior!

My family group sailed on Liberty of the Seas last August. We had three cabins with balconies and two inside cabins (that looked out over the Royal Promenade) on deck 6. I am so glad we sprung for the balcony rooms as we had the dividers removed and could share one three cabin long balcony space. Was fun to watch from our own space when coming into or leaving a port.

I have been on over 20 cruises and always had an inside room. Not for the savings but, for the fact I am only there about 6 hours aday. The best views are from the deck. Some prefer a balcony which is fine for them. But, the people, activities are on deck. There are plenty of places to either sit & relax or join in.
I believe the one thing most people here will agree on is the a CRUISE is the best vacation you can take.
Enjoy.
Plus, some cabins with an ocean view are blocked alittle by the lifeboats.

You need a window, obviously a balcony is better but more expensive (we found we did not use ours much but it was nice it was there and of course door opened). You can get cabin fever without a window.

Well I think it kind of depends on where your going. Our first 3 cruise's were inside cabins. We just booked a 7 day Alaskan cruise (2nd time) and we booked a balcony. Our first cruise was 4 day to Cozumel Carnival inside was OK because it was warm and sunny outside and didn't spend much time in the room. Same with the Bahama trip good weather = outside. Our first Alaska trip we kind of wished we would have got a window room but at that time it was all we could do to afford the trip. We were on deck alot watching things. So with that best answer is what you think you can afford and scenery. Can you see it as good from the deck? Is it going to be crowded? Hows the weather? Good luck, I'm sure you will enjoy no matter what.
