It depends on the cruise and the cruise line you are going on. Some cater to families, others to the retired set. I suggest you find out which ones will suit your teens. |

Depends on the cruise line and on the kids. We went on a Norwegian cruise, and I saw LOTS of kids that age on the ship, but they were always hanging around in big packs and causing trouble because there wasn't enough for them to do on the ship. I never saw them with their families!!! So... it really depends on the kids.
The best thing to do is to discuss with them - and talk about what activities are available on board and if they think they would get bored with them. The kids club is NOT geared towards this age group, and even if it was, generally kids that age think that anything organized by adults is LAME!!
The shore excursions often offer great activities for all ages, but can get quite expensive.
All in all, the trip was fantastic for us, who wanted lots of time to just lay in the sun and relax. Talk to the kids about it and let them have their input. Hopefully everyone will have a great time! |

depends what type of cruise ship you are going on, there are cruises for older people and cruises for families. I went on a cruise for a week when i was 16, and it was the best holiday i have ever had, me, my sister who was 15 and cousin who was 14 met soo many friends. We had such a great time we didnt want to leave and the best thing about it is that our parents could go to bed and let us stay up, cos where was we going to go??? I would definately reccommend it. |

Yes--some cruise lines specialise in catering to teens or families in general. Main thing to be concerned about is security--some cruise ships have some bad (criminal-minded) crew that would love to take advantage of a naive teen. Enforcing the law in international waters can be difficult. I would expect a reputable outfit like Disney Cruise Line to have fewer problems than some cheap, no-name line. If you plan to send a teenager on a cruise, warn them about the potential of bad crew. |

Definately!! There is always something to do for everyone on a cruise (i've been on 2, about to go on my 3rd next month!). And for the money, you can't get a better vacation, they are pretty cheap compared to everything that is included. I recommend cruising to everyone! Carnival even has a club for kids this age, so they get to hang out and have fun with people their own age. |

We went on a cruise as a family when I was 11 and my sis was 9. It was excellent for us although I think if we were teenagers we would not have enjoyed it as much. Kids had a kids room and arts/activity centre so we could play all day but it didnt include teenagers. If I was picking a holiday for teenagers it would not be on a cruise as I think they would be really bored. |

We went on an X-mas cruise last year aboard the Carnival Triumph for the second year in a row. It is great. Everyone had a good time, kids, teens, adults, and seniors. |

Why not? There are many things for them to do, many games while sailing, and many things to see and learn in the places you go :-) |

no. cruises are for people who like aerobics and bingo. in other words they suck. |

Most definitely not. Cruises are for old people who think it's acceptable to lie on the sun deck in barely-there swimsuits and you have to sit near them at the bar trying to enjoy your pina colada while they shamelessly expose their wrinkly, flabby bits. Avoid cruises at all costs |
