Is a one week cruise the best romantic experience?

Well, I think so -- as long as my husband is aboard with me! =)

Here are a few reasons why we really like our romantic vacations on ships:
- No hassles. Everything's taken care of. We have a choice of restaurants, but we know they're all good. We only have to pack and unpack once. No driving. Perfect!
- We sleep like babies. It's partly the very gentle rocking while the ship's at sea, but mostly the black-out curtains.
- No designated driver. So we can have wine with dinner, go out afterward, with no worries.
- I can wear super-high heels, and whatever dress I want, and never worry about walking far or getting cold.

You might like this "introduction to cruises" which lays out some of the reasons people go on cruises, explains what a typical day is like, etc.:

You can also read my recent cruise journal from a Holland America Line cruise here:

That particular cruise was with the whole family, but HAL is my pick for romantic trips (other lines are better for nightlife or partying or sporty vacations).

Hope that helps!

Having never been on a cruise, I can't speak from personal experience, but I'd say for me, it would probably be right up there in the top 5!

When do we leave? and to where??

D
Never been so its hard to say. It sure sounds nice.

Romance is everywhere on a cruise. 7 days is just right for a cruise although, I now like them longer. If you go on one of those Princess cruises where they have movies under the stars, you can snuggle under blankets, eat popcorn and dream. You can get flowers in your cabin waiting for you as you board the ship. Chocolates are on your bed every evening, some are heart shape too. Why not hang out in the hot tub late at night. And what is more beautiful then waking up to a room with a balcony looking at the ocean. Breakfast in bed and pampering all day and night. Yes, I would say a cruise is very romantic.
