Is anyone else a little weary about taking a cruise nowadays?
A little bit but like everything else we do, it's just another little risk on the way. I probably wouldn't feel like this if I hadn't been on a cruise before (just once), but it's suuuch a good time on vacation on the ship. Airplanes crash and people still get on em every day. I'm still going to keep cruising.
As for people going missing? No one likes to point out that 9/10 the person was drunk. Cruiselines cannot be responsible for irresponsible people to fall overboard.

Depends on what type of cruise you are planning on taking. Have you considered taking a cruise on a small ship line? They go to places that larger cruise lines don't normally go to. Google some of the smaller ones like America West or Captain Cook Lines. They offer a totally different experience than the larger carrier's.

It seems everybody gets sick nowadays.
I wouldn't go just for that reason alone!
I saw something on the news about a cruise ship that almost capsized in Florida two weeks ago.
I also heard on Yahoo! Questions a while ago that there was wet carpet in some of the rooms on a cruise line. When the people complained, the crew came in and sprayed a chemical mold-retardant on the carpet and sent them back into their rooms, and that was all they would do.
...Oh....and the people who disappear from the ship! Forgot about that one.
