That was nearly 100 years ago. Safety and technology have come a long way since then. |

I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A CRUISE, BUT I WOULD BE MORE AFRAID OF DISAPPEARING OFF THE BOAT MORE THEN ANYTHING. THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT GO ON CRUISE THAT JUST DISAPPEAR OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH, AND ARE NEVER TO BE FOUND, BUT I WOULD TAKE THE CHANCE, I ALWAYS WANTED TO GO ON A CRUISE. |

No. Cruise ships knowingly employs criminals from different countries. It is a real risk. Pay your life insurance. Many people get robbed, raped or murdered. And the cruise line will help cover up the crime. Do not go. |

that was in 1912 technology has come a long way since then and how many cruise ships have you heard of hitting icebergs and sinking since then not unless the iceberg hides and then jumps in front of the ship hmmm i think not anyway enjoy your cruise and don,t take to much ice in your drink incase there running low and need to get a new supply from an iceberg safe journey good luck |

It is perfectly safe. The last cruise ship that sunk was the Andra Dora in the 1950's - And then with only a slight loss of life.
Cruising now has many regulations. First - Before you leave the port you must attend a muster drill where you go to your life boat station and get a safety lecture. In addition, the crew drills periodically on launching life boats.
The titanic was over 100 years ago. Don't worry.
Enjoy your cruise ! |

It's way safer, now they have to have lifeboats for every person, and that was nearly a 100 years ago. Now we have better technology. |

It usually is. There were a couple of bad Alaska cruise problems near Vancouver this summer but they made the news just because they were so rare. |

In the Caribbean and other tropical areas, there are no icebergs so you're fine. I'd be much more concerned if the cruise was in Alaska or near the North or South Pole where they do have them.
But in all honesty, they are supposed to be very safe. Extra safety measures were put into effect in the first place *becasue* of what happened with the Titanic. |

Our experience has been first class, the ships are very safe and the crew are well trained,15 days was our longest cruise |

Cruise ships never go very far from the port so in a way you are always very close to the land. |

Caribbean and South American Cruising is okay, anywhere else you have to watch for Pirates. |

it is very very very safe to go on a cruise. they have a saftey record higher then any other form of transportation. they have so many differnt ways of pumping out the water and keeping it to a small area. the cruise ships can call anyone in the around for help and help would be there very very fast. if u had to get off the ship, the lifboats can hold a 100 people and are self righting in case they get tiped over. i was on a ship and i never felt safer. |

Totally safe. Technology has improved A LOT since then. I went on both the Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mary II. U don't even fee like ur on a boat. I was terrified as well, the first time on. Note: Do not go see the movie Poseidon... |

dont worry! they are compleatly safe!!! everyone goes on them and i have been on two. i have not herd of any cruise sinking ever in real life, only in movies. plus, befor they leave the dock, they do a emergeny drill and the staff does another two bythemselvs. n even if it does sink which is unlikely, there are lifeboats with survival kits enough for two weeks. youll be fine! dont worry! |

I went on a cruise and it was fun and perfectly safe. Titanic happended so many years ago and what are the chances that where you are going you are not only going to hit an Ice burg but that there are not going to be enough life jackets and life boats to save you in the UNLIKELY event that you do hit an iceburg |

You hear about EVERY incident on cruise ships and they're still small in comparison to any other mode of transportation or vacation. The fact that we're still talking about an incident that happened almost a hundred years ago when there are litterally hundreds of thousands of people on ships every week is a testament to how safe it is. I take a cruise every year and just can't bring myself to stop and do something else. I love it that much! |

It is fairly safe. It is as safe as going anywhere on vacation. Just remember that crime is everywhere so you are not completely insulated on a ship even though they have security. Go ahead and go and have a great time. Just don't let your guard down. We all tend to do that when we are relaxed and away from home. Bon Voyage ! |

Although rogue waves are a bit more common than previously thought, modern cruise ships will be able to detect them in plenty of time to position the ship so there is little impact. In other words, don't worry about it. |

Heck ya it's safe. I was on a 50 year old passenger freighter which was not in the best of shape from Tahiti to Trinidad and I never felt unsafe even in the worst of weather. That is not to say that something couldn't happen...but I would venture to say that you are safer on a cruise ship than you are driving your car. |

You can get killed in a car accident, or in a plane crash. A cruise is no more dangerous than a plane ride or a drive in a car, but infinitely more pleasurable.Go on one, and it will be the most memorable vacation of your life. A sea going liner is truly a cathedral of the ocean |

Love, think about it: how many hundreds of cruise ships are on the ocean at any time every day and nothing happens. And besides, they've implemented A LOT of safety precautions and measures since Titanic. And if something were to happen, rescue teams would be able to reach you far faster than they were able to in 1912. Don't worry about something that's not going to happen, love. Enjoy yourself and bring back photos! |

People are a lot smarter then they were in 1912 so you don't need to worry about the ship sinking. It's safe. Go and have fun! |

Frankly, considering the luck cruise ships have been having lately, I'd be a lot more worried about getting some horrible, painful stomach disease. I think you're in pretty good shape these days as far as the ship not sinking. |

Is it really really safe to go on a cruise? I'm terrified to ever since i saw the movie Titanic? pic 1 |
