Here i am..and thank you for your comment.
here is the url for your states locations in applying for a passport.
There are several to choose from.(usually takes 2 weeks to recieve your first passport) but they will tell you usually 14 days.

The US Postal Service will assist you with your passport needs. Just call your local P.O. for info on the nearest one to your home, as not all P.O.'s process them. As for the pictures, go elsewhere for them, it is a little more money if you get them there. (P.O.)

passports come from the state department. there is no such thing as a immigration department only a bureau which is part of the department of homeland security. plus immigration is broken down into three bureau, ice, immigration and customs enforcement, cbp, customs and border protection and uscis, u.s. citizenship and immigration services.

Nearby post office, should be safice.
If you live in a small town, may need to call a larger town to find a post office that does the passport.
You can get picture and everything right at the post office.
Even if you live in a small town, they will be able to tell you of one close by.
Some court houses, (in Illinois) you can obtain them.

We applied for our passports at our local post office.

One thing I didn't know beforehand, the post office charges an extra fee for the photos, like $15.00. Whereas you can have passport photos made at some drug stores for something like under $5.00.
