Is there a Catholic mass offered on Royal Caribbean cruise ships? |
I was wondering if there is any mass services offered on any Royal Caribbean ships, namely the Freedom of the Seas. I know there is a wedding chapel, but I did not see anything about a church. Any one know? Thanks!!

Thanks for the responses! I'm not looking to get married on the ship, just wanted to know if they offer a weekly mass on the boat. I don't like to miss mass, but for a week I suppose it would be alright. Thank you! |

Call RCL and ask. I can't speak for all RC ships. But their was one on the Monarch of the Seas cruise that I took about 5 years ago. They did it when we where docked in San Diego. The Catholic Priest came on board and held the mass in the observation lounge. |

No there are no mass services onboard Royal Caribbean cruises. The wedding chapel is only for marriages. Hope you have fun anyways =D |

It depends on the route, of course, but I think you will discover that cruises normally put into port on Sunday mornings for that very reason.

although I was on a christmas cruise and they had a church service on christmas morning, which i went to.
there was a catholic one and also a prespyterian one i think |

In general, a mass is not celebrated on all ships unless a priest is traveling on the ship at the time of the sailing and wishes to offer the service. It is hit and miss.
If you are Catholic, most priests will not marry you outside of a proper church -this may include garden, beach weddings, etc. It technically not liturgically correct. I can't say it is impossible.
Work with a destination wedding specialist and they will work with you in finding you someone. |
