Is there a cruiseline for teens 18+ traveling WITHOUT adults? |
Is there any cruiseline out there that doesn't require an adult with the group? Also, I'm from Miami, FL, so any destination/cruiseline leaving from Miami would be fine. |

To the first guy that answered your question.... he really doesnt know anything!!!
Well let me tell you what happened to us.... I graduated in 2004 by then I was 18 .... we wanted to go on a cruise for our senior trip and we looked everywhere!!! Travel agencies and called the cruiselines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL etc... and Not one would let people 18 cruise by themselves.... we had to have someone 25 or older to book the cruise and in each cabin someone older than 21 had to be with us..... at the end we had to take chaperrons..... 21 and older and some parents had to go.... we had fun though.... but seriously we didnt find one |

The first guy that answered, Cory, was 100% wrong. You may be an adult according to law but there are quite a few things you cannot do until after age 21 or even age 25.
Cruise lines do not want the liability of underage kids drinking alcohol so they have these restrictions.
Try renting a car at age 18 and you will see how much of an adult the car rental agencies think you are!
Get parents to go with your group. It can be a fun experience for everyone. |

The following cruise lines will allow you to book at 18
American West Steamboat Company,
Cruise West,
Cunard,
Oceania,
Orient Lines,
P&O Cruises,
Peter Deilmann,
Regent (Radisson) Seven Seas Cruises,
SeaDream,
Star Clippers,
Uniworld and
Windjammer.
Be advised however that they are extremely expensive. Possibly several hundred dollars per day. |

NO, there are no cruise lines that will let even one, two or three 18 years olds cruise alone without a person at least 21 (or 25 for Carnival) in each cabin. Here's what the requirements are:
Here's Carnival's policy:
"Guests are required to be 21 years old (on embarkation day) to travel. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom by a parent or guardian 25 or older. The exceptions Carnival will make to this policy are:
Married minor couple - The booking must be documented that the couple is married. The couple must have proof of marriage at embarkation or they will be denied boarding without the benefit of a refund. "
The age requirement on Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess and other cruise lines is different from Carnival. They require that at least one person be age 21 or older.
Royal Caribbean policy straight from their web site:
"No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be reserved in a stateroom unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older. This age limit will be waived for minor children sailing with their parents or guardians in adjacent staterooms or under-aged married couples (proof of marriage is required). Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to ask for proof of age. Royal Caribbean Internationals age policy for gambling and consumption of alcoholic beverages is as follows: Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines his or her status for the entire cruise vacation."
Here's what Princess requires:
"Passengers under the age of 21 years must be accompanied by a Passenger 21 years or older who shall assume responsibility for their care during the cruise. Each Passenger hereby agrees and warrants that he/she will supervise any Passenger in his/her care at all times to ensure all policies, along with all other rules of the Carrier and ship, are strictly adhered to by all Passengers under their supervision. No alcohol may be purchased or consumed by any Passengers under the age of 21. No Passenger under the age of 21 shall be permitted to engage in any gaming activities on board the ship. No Passenger under the age of 18 shall be permitted to purchase cigarettes or tobacco products. Passengers hereby agree not to bring alcoholic beverages of any kind (except wine and champagne) on board for consumption."
The other cruise line web sites have the same age requirement with similar language. So you need people age 21 and older to accompany you on the trip. You will also all need passports unless you book your cruise and go and return before the end of 2007. Beginning January 1, 2008 you will all be required to have a passport to board the ship. So if you find a person to go with you you need to get passports ASAP. |

um, if you are 18+, you are an adult? You're question makes no sense to me. I don't think there are any cruiselines out there that let people below 18 go without a guardian, and for those of you who are above 18, you are your own guardian, and they can't say no to you.
Hopefully that answered your question. |
