LOL I did this on my first cruise. What I used though are these plastic flasks called Rum Runners They work beautifully. They will not show under x-ray and to not take up much space. They are virtually leak proof. You idea is ok, but I would be hesitant to use those bottles.

Here is the website if you want to take a look-

Good luck!!

That's just sad. When you go to such great lengths to hide your drinking I think it's time to ask yourself if you have a problem. Consider going to Alcoholics Anonymous.

sherbert222
You need to think it over.
You could ruin a great cruise by doing something as stupid as that.
There is plenty of grog on -board so why smuggle it?
Perhaps you are under age?
No excuse,,,

I would guess that you, yourself are not paying for the cruise either. Guess what would happen if you got caught? Your mom would be the one to deal with this burden. As I see it, you only care about yourself and your booze, not the person who is paying for you to go on this cruise. Real nice.

Just don't do it. You will get caught either by your mother or somebody who works on the ship. Just wait until you are 21 to drink alcohol. Why do you want to do something illegal?

First of all, what cruise line are you on? Some are more lax about screening.

Secondly, don't use something that had chemicals in it. You can't guarantee that you cleaned out all the chemicals and you never know how they will react with alcohol or do to you when ingested. Plus, you could end up with some funky tasting liquor. Bad idea.

Thirdly, cruise lines are on to it. They know all the tricks in the book. Yes, they can see plastic bottles in suitcases and they can even see what rum runners are by their "distinctive" shape on xray. They are trained to know what to look for and will check bags. They also know that people don't need a gigantic bottle of mouthwash for a 7 day cruise. There isn't anything they haven't seen before. the question is, will they care?

And guess what happens when they find alcohol... they'll often hold your luggage and make you go to a "naughty room" to inspect it. How would you explain that to your mom?

Why are you bothering to sneak alcohol on board a cruise? There is PLENTY of booze available!

NiTSiRK_81
Sounds a bit extreme to me is it really that important to have the alcohol, risking the trouble it could cause??? You didn't mention where you're going but a lot of places off the ship you don't need to be 21 to drink. When I went on a carnival cruise we brought along a bottle of Jack and a bottle of champagne just in the suitcase and had no trouble. Although the person who's bag it was in was in the coast guard and he told me they aren't as strict with them being we're going on a ship and all.

I would check all the details and restrictions about bringing on alcohol on the cruise website thoroughly to see what the consequences would be. If you do decide to do it I would go with glass mouthwash bottles. There are often most secure since you dont want alcohol leaking out all over your clothes and stuff your mom would definitely catch on if you smell like it.

My final thought is don't do it. Good luck though and have fun!

given it is a cruise, the only more foolish thing you could do would be to try to smuggle food aboard. did you know that one of the items cruise ships carry an ample of inventory of is coffins? each cruise, people who are older, sedentary and careful about their diet, die, simply because of the excess food, drink and exercise, mainly from dancing and other shipboard activities?

yeah i will do tat but best of ya buy in island bez ya can come out from ship and back in anytime also its so cheaper in island like what i did and tat time i was 14 and i enter store w my friend and buy vodka, the owner wont care bez they need money after ya buy ya better put vodka in water bottle then enter the ship then put in ur bag or whatever so yaa wont get busted then tat night party hard core in teenclub fyi they wont even care if ya drink vodka bez they will toughs tat ya drink water or ya can mix it in bottle or put in mug! so i think tat is less risk!

Jeez, what a bunch of Negative Nancies you have answering your question. Anyway, here's the scoop on smuggling booze on board a cruise ship:

First, use an all plastic bottle. That way it won't show up on an x-ray. Second, make it a beverage that they don't serve on the ship. If you're bringing a clear booze on board, you can get a bottle of a clear flavor of Gatorade. Or get a dark bottle for any kind of beverage. I always use an empty 1.25 liter Arizona Green Iced Tea bottle. They're dark brown and you can't tell what's in them, regardless of the color. And, with these types of beverage bottles, you can say that you need these beverages for when you exercise to keep from getting dehydrated. But, don't worry. You won't get caught.

Fill the iced tea bottle all the way to the top until it almost overflows. This will prevent the contents from sloshing (it's amazingly loud). Seal the bottle tightly with the cap. Put the bottle into a carboard box that's tightly packed with foam packing sheets or peanuts. Tape the box shut. If you want to go an additional step, wrap it like a birthday present.

Pack this in the center of a check-on suit case. Never try to take a bottle of booze in your carry-on baggage. They do x-ray your carry-on bags at the terminal. But, the check-on bags, not so much. And, they don't pay attention to anything that's not metal in the check-on bags.

When they bring your bags to your cabin, the bar is open. Get a soda card to get sodas for mixed drinks. And don't feel bad about bugging the room steward for ice all the time. They might get tired of you and just tell you where it is to get it yourself. Of course, you can always just get the ice for the drinks on the Lido deck.

I have smuggled booze on board every cruise (about a half dozen) that I have ever been on and never got close to being caught. And, I don't feel bad about it. The first time I took a cruise, I packed about $140 in quarters into my check on bags to use in the casino. And, between the time I checked my bags and got them at my cabin, someone had stolen the quarters. So, I figure they owe me.

Good luck and have fun.
