Well I agree with Mary. If its an excursion you really have your heart set on taking, you'd best book it in advance. The excursion prices don't go down once you set sail. However, if its a popular excursion, if you don't book in advance, you may miss the opportunity once you set sail. Excursions can sale out. Best be sure! Better safe than sorry. Book in advance. If you change your mind once you set sail, you can always get a credit. |

The ladies are right! Book it if you have your heart set on it! And that means calling the cruise line excursions as soon as you know you are cruising....do not wait for the first day of the cruise. When you call to book it, ask for the cancellation policy as well. I believe ours was 48 hours. When you book it, you are guaranteed a spot for what you really want to do. Plus, when you go on the excursion you will not miss the ship coming back....it waits for your excursion to get back.
Remember that you can cancel following the guidelines, and it assures you a space. Also, the excursion could be canceled due to weather or some other circumstance, so it is a good idea to have a back up plan too.

I agree with the other answereres.
However most shore excursions are a financial rip off. If you are going to a advanced country do it yourself.
We look at what excirsions are on offer, Do online research and then decide what you wan to do! Remember most excursions are by coach and you can't stop and look at things that interest you!
Book a hire car before going (there are always taxis on ther docks when you arrive) and do it yourself. 99% of the time you will have a better/cheaper/longer day! |

If an excursion you really want to do will have a limited number of available places (like swimming with dolphins) it would be worth your while to book in advance. For others, you might want to wait until you see all the information about what is involved. |
