Its Cruise Time and I'm Down to 3 Ships help me choose!? |
I really enjoy cruising and ive already been on 2 cruises and had great times. i am in the midst of planning my 3rd cruise and i cannot decide which ship to go on. They all go where i want to go. It is between Carnival Triumph, Carnival Glory, and the huge Royal Carribbien ship Freedom of the Seas. Anyone have any experiances or recommendations on/for these ships?
For a little extra info i love to go clubbin at nights on my cruises and enjoying great food day and night be it the buffet or dining. A basketball court would be nice too or an arcade.
So to summarize i would like
Great club
Great Food
and a Basketball court or great Arcade (DDR!!)
Which should i go on!? |

Both the Carnival ships are good choices then. The food has been greatly improved on all Carnival ships and they have more/better club/party atmosphere than Royal Caribbean (which is a bit more family oriented, not that you wouldn't enjoy Freedom if you're a couple or singleton). |

In my experience, I really prefer Royal Caribbean to Carnival. If you can get both trips for the same price, I'd go for the Freedom. I was able to see it this past weekend, and it is a really nice ship! It has all of the activities that you're looking for, and then some! |

I've been on Freedom. She's awesome. I have pics on my 360 page if you like. The flow rider is cool. I'm partial to Royal as I've cruised with them in the past. We are going on Freedoms sister ship in November & it can't come quick enough.
Freedom has a wicked club on the 2nd deck and one night of the cruise they turn the solarium into an adult dance club. Dancing by the pool or in it. The DJ could mix it up pretty good.
They have a full B-ball court and arcade.
No matter what you choose have fun. |

sounds like carnival would be good for the reasons you mentioned.
they have great activities and if you like the party scene they have that too. look at cruisecritic.com for more information on each ship. have a good cruise. |

Ive just come of one of RCI other huge ships, Navigator of the Seas, so i would say Freedom of the Seas It will have the Same Things(Except water park) and better. |

Freedom for sure
Carnival sucks.
I prefer small ships, but if i had to choose, Royal absolutly. |

Go with Freedom of the Seas.
Newest, most modern, best clubs. Sweet flat-screens in all rooms. Best sport courts.
As far as DDR goes... Freedom's sister ship Liberty of the Seas has a DDR Supernova, but I'm not certain Freedom has one.
I'm pretty certain that Triumph and Glory do not offer DDR at all.
Ships that have some form of DDR: Navigator of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Rhapsody Of The Seas (I'm not so sure on that one), Voyager of the Seas, Carnival Pride, Elation and Spirit, and the Disney ships. |

I was on the Triumph last June and unless they have changed their cruise director you will not enjoy that ship. They do however have great food and a basketball court, but the clubbing scene will be lacking. The cruise director has a lot to do with how the on-board activities play out and this one was definitely not geared towards a younger clubbing crowd. I have never been on the Freedom of the Seas so I really can not comment on it. The Glory will also have great food, a basketball court and lots of clubbing activity. I'm planning on going on the Glory in April or May. |

It sounds to me as if this is an all win situation. All three ships should be large and fun. Maybe you should try one that you haven't experienced before. The companies aim to please. They should all be good. |

I have cruised Triumph twice and am set to go again in January.
I love the relatively "small" size of the ship. While it carries a coupla thousand people, the ship is laid out very well and traffic is not a problem. I think the smaller ships have a better cruise experience than the behemoths. No long lines at the buffet, purser, shore excursion.....
I would never personally sail on one of the "giants". It is too much like a floating hotel; when what I want is a cruise ship. Also, too many irresponsible young people/parents on larger ships. I go to relax, not dodge drunks and put up with all night partiers in the hallways. |
