Just off my first 4 night cruise and i am still swaying after 3 days! Help!?

I just got off a 4 night super cruise. I didnt get motion sickness until after i finished the cruise. I did notice that while on the boat i was swaying but also my hubby felt that as well, so didnt think anything of it. Now i am 3rd day off the boat and i am still unbalanced. I have tried Sudfed as i read that my inner ears unbalanced from it all. I also got ginger as well as i read that. Any other people experienced this? Some say it will go away 4 - 1 mth time?? also there some rare condition that is for women who are like in there 40's 50's but its rare and i am 32! whats that about? Some also say they pay ppl to feel this.. i am not enjoying it at all. I look like a drunk sailor!

What you are experiencing is best dealt with a doctor. I talked to people who felt very similar to you, and the doctor fixed what was wrong with them. It is normal to feel a bit off balance, like you are still on the waves for a week or so, but you have it a bit worse. Your balance is located in your ears, so you may need to see a ears, nose, and throat specialist. Good luck, and don't worry so much.

I've had this happen before. It is normal, don't worry. I don't think that there is much that you can do about it. It goes away about a week after your cruise.

Just be careful going down the stairs, you could fall. It is interesting, because when you get off of the ship for ports, you don't feel it. I guess it happens after a day or two from getting off of the ship.
:) Happy Cruising! (:

Put the bottle down you boozer! Vacation is over already. You might have to go on another cruise just to feel normal.

first try ear drops for wax. This will relieve the inner ear pressure and do no harm.. Otherwise some dramamine for a day or two. Seems like your inner ear has been affected. I am a long time sufferer and understand how upsetting it is.

I to had this problem, but it went away after a week. HEY---- why is lollipops9604 telling all of us we need to see a psychologist?

It takes about a week. You especially notice it when you're standing in front of the toilet.

I had the same problem after my cruise. The room spun, I was light headed, even nausious! I had it the worst out of my cabin-mates. I looked it up & found the best solution is actually to take Bonine (the motion sickness medicine). It worked wonders for me. Though, it made me drowsy so make sure you can sleep it off after!

I hope this works for you, because that feeling is just awful!

Highly Favoured
I was on a cruise for 2 weeks and every day on the different islands I felt like I was rocking. I thought the earth was shaking but it was only me. I think this came from the constant rocking of the ship because it was really bad. It continued for a while after the cruise finish and I did not even realize when it stopped. Stop worrying about it and it will go away.

HAHA! Yeah, see a doctor. Somethings up with your equilibrium. Not a big deal. I cruise so much now, I've got permanent sea legs! Arrrrrr!!!!!

Honestly, I have never heard of this. This sounds like a mental thing. You should not feel swaying just because you got off a cruise. If you suffer from vertigo prior then I could understand. Try some vertigo medicine (some otc meds are at the health food store). If you still have problems then seek the advice of a professional doctor or psychologist.
