Just won a cruise honestly how is the lower deck experience?

Being the good son and taking my stressed out mom for a vacation, I only care about viewing the ocean and resting. Do we have access to the whole ship? please let me know, thanks, bryan

If you've won a cruise yes you will have the run of the whole ship. The lower deck is where I would prefer cuz you are just above the water line and can see it very clearly. Enjoy your cruise and don't eat too much of that wonderful food..

I actually prefer the lower decks to the higher ones as if the sea is rough, then its not so bad the lower you are. I've cruised in all cabins from lower inside (no windows) to balcony and to be honest you spend so little time in your cabin, it really doesnt matter. The most basic cabins are of a good standard and to get over the no windows bit I used to set my TV to the channel that shows the camera's view from the front of the ship. That way you go to sleep with the dark and dawn comes via the TV screen. Enjoy yourselves, you'll have a great time!!

You will have access to the entire ship......You are actually fortunate to be on the lower deck of the ship.....If you are on the lower decks you will not have as good a chance of getting sea sick because you are closer to the stabilizers....Have a great time and make the most of your time with your mom.....You are a good son to take your mother on a cruise....I'm proud of you!!

Not too many people win cruises except on the Majesty what ever they call it. If this cruise is on the Majesty, I suggest you go to cruise critic and read the reviews. I don't want to sound negative, but many people have come here saying they won a cruise only to find out it was a scam on a horrid ship called the Imperial Majesty. The ship is like 50 years old in terrible shape, plus they push alcohol on you every step you take. So if this is the ship, just be aware. BTW, if you didn't enter a contest, then you sure as heck didn't win a cruise. I sincerely hope you won a real cruise on a nice ship. btw, the lower decks are just fine.

Congratulations to your win. Yes, you will have access to the whole ship.

Enjoy

Personally I prefer a balcony, but, I've also done the inside bottom deck. You spend very little time in your room, so it really doesn't matter.

The only time your cabin is tied to anything else on the ship is when you are on the Cunard. Then it is only your dining room. There are a few areas on other ships that you can't go, but neither can most of the other people. There are separate pools, deck areas and other amenities just for people who book the top dozen or so suites.
