I have cruised all over the Caribbean and what we do is always find an internet cafe at the port stop. There is one either on or near the port in just about every port and the prices will range from about $3 an hour to maybe $10 an hour, but still much much less than on ship.. Many times you will see a big sign saying Internet but you can also ask at the information desk at the pier, ask around the town, or best of all, just ask your cabin steward and/or wait staff. They ship's crew know where the internet access is available because when the ship gets to port they usually get off and uses it. But, like I said above, in many you'll see a sign in the cruise ship terminal or on the pier or nearby. |

Either international or local phone cards from the places you visit, using a public phone would be the only other thing which comes to mind. |

The best thing to do is to get an international calling card at any convenience store and use it when you are in port. |

Once your out to sea your phone completely will not work. you will have to use there internet onboard which is very pricey. If you have a global phone your cell should work in the ports of call. |

Whatever you do DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE. My neighbors went out of the country and to call someone on there cell was $3 a min. And they ended up with an outrageous phone bill. |

atanu is incorrect. It does not cost anything to use an agent. The benefits are that they are knowledgeable on all the topics that result in questions being asked in places like this. They have access to even cheaper rates than those advertised directly by the cruise line. They give you a gift in your cabin, and many more benefits. |

Finding cheap cruises has never been easier than it is now. The internet has totally changed the way that all travel businesses are able to market and sell their services for less, and cruise carriers are leading the way in their pursuit to help travelers take affordable vacations. In the past, if you wanted to take a cruise you'd have to book your trip directly through a travel agency but now the internet makes it possible to skip the middle man and book your trip through an online cruise booking website or directly with the carrier on their own website. This means more savings and fewer headaches for you the traveler.
