And I do not agree with the statement about cheap and high quality not being in the same sentence. Someone is seriously mistaken. Cruise lines sometimes decrease sales or offer promotions to last minute buyers which is good news for you! Holland America & Princess are two cruise lines that are HIGH quality and specialize in Alaskan sailing which offer deeply discounted rates, even $99 third and fourth guest rates. I would suggest going to the cruise lines websites and clicking on specials or hot deals etc. to see what is going on. Vacations to Go.com offers a 90 day ticker and you can search for cruises even leaving this week. Alot of times you can find awesome deals. I happen to know that Princess cruises have some great deals to Alaska this season, so I would check with them. We went to a cruise seminar about 2 months ago and were told this. For some reason, the cruises to Alaska are not booked up for the summer yet and so you can get good deals. Check with vacations to go as they always have great prices and I just booked with them to Hawaii this fall.

"Really Nice" and "Cheap" in regarding to cruising Alaska, don't really go in the same sentence.

Now through September is prime season for cruising Alaska, and the itinerary is almost always priced very competitively. The prices you see on the internet today, are what you can expect unless you wait and stumble upon a last minute deal...
