Mayday
Royal Caribbean has Explorer of the Seas which does 5 day Bermuda runs in the summer out of Bayonne, NJ. These cruises leave on Jul 4, Jul 18, Aug 1, and Aug 15. They are selling at around $750 per person for an inside cabin
If you want to do a longer cruise, Norwegian Dawn does 7 day Bermuda runs from New York. These leave every Sunday from May - August.

You can go online to the individual cruise lines
With their drop down menus you canfind a cruise anywhere at anytime from almost any port.
I use royal carribean, their menus are in my opinion the best but, i'm sure others feel strongly about other cruise lines.
Don't forget June to August is hurricane season

You don't want to drive to Florida--why not fly? It will be less than 0-4 hours. But they have cruises that leave out of Baltimore, NY, and even a couple out of Charleston. It's just not that many.

You mentioned Canada. You want to go to a cold location? I think all the cruises to Alaska leave from the west coast so you may have to go to the Caribbean.

What cruise line do you want to go on?

Carnival has these in June

and 10 out of NY

Just search on the websites. There are tons still open but without knowing more details (budget, line, or which port you are particularly wanting) it's very hard to post all the links.

There are lots still available but I think 1,700 for Bermuda is a rip off. Unless you are talking about Celebrity cruises or something more expensive.

Do you know why it's so cheap to take a cruise in the Caribbean during August? Does the name Rita or Katrina mean anything to you?

August and September are the two months or the year when massive hurricanes are most likely to blow through the Caribbean, skip across Florida, build up steam in the Gulf of Mexico, and then slam into the gulf coast. And, it's no fun being on a cruise ship when there's hurricanes around. Sure, you can outrun and outmaneuver them. But, you spend days at sea going in circles waiting for the storm to pass. And, all of your ports of call could get wiped out. So, you would be out at sea, in the wind, rain, and swells the entire time with nothing to do but stay in bed with seasickness.

Pick another time of year, at least late October at the earliest. Besides, you'll better appreciate the warmth of the Caribbean with winter coming on in New Jersey.

Your travel agent should be able to assist. It costs you nothing, but is a great service!

I am a travel agent. I looked at my site have have three ports up in that area. New York has the most. Other ports are Boston and Baltimore. I check using July 2009. Boston looks like only to Canada.

Go on my site and click on the cruise tab. When it opens then put in cruise port than click month of travel. Then do the Search.

Let me know and I can help on the cruise booking.
