The food on cruises is incredible. For breakfast, most cruise lines have a sit-down restaurant and a buffet. Lunch is frequently eaten at a port of call, but for those who don't go off the ship there are boutique restaurants are open pizza, burgers, ice cream. Sometimes there is no port of call and ship sails through the day. On these days there is luncheon buffet. For dinner, there are three options. A buffet, a sit down dinner (this dinner is sheduled and you select either first or second seating, one of these meals may be formal atire) or a private dining room. The private dining room does charge a nominal fee for reservations.
There is an enormous variety on the buffets for breakfast lunch and dinner. At the breakfast sit-down you can get Eggs Benedict, pancakes, eggs cooked any style, waffles, etc.
For the sit down dinners the menu offers your choice of 5 entre's plus an assortment of soups, salads, appetizers and desert.
Remember, all food is included in the price of the cruise. Even if there are candles on your table, you and and your server are wearing a tux and you want *two* or even *three* prime rib entre's - they are yours for the asking.

Depends on the Ship, but there will be LOTS. Three meals a day in the main dining rooms, usually a 24 hour buffet, grill by the pool with burgers and dogs, and such, a pizzeria, deli, or other casual eatery, probably at least one (and as many as 5) other restaurants with a surcharge that will have specialties such as a steak-house, a french restaurant, teppanyaki, or italian. most ships have some sort of patisserie or coffee bar - believe me you can eat the entire time you are on the ship, and no matter how finicky you are, you will find something you like. |
