Hey. I've been on a cruise to the caribbean almost 3 times. Im going on one in august with Royal Caribbean.

1. I recommend Royal Caribbean or Princess Cruise Line. Last year, I went on a 10 day cruise to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Grand Turks. That was from princess cruise line. Norwegian Cruise Line is a great cruise line if you like to eat at any time you want to. NCL offers freestyle crusing which means that you don't have a seating time for dinner. I prefer having a reserved seating and thats why I recommeneded Royal Caribbean or Princess Cruise Line.

Here are some caribbean cruises for December:

This is a 6 night western caribbean. Its on Royal Caribbean's newest ship:

http://www.cruises.com/b/c/sc.asp?d=12/1/2008&d2=12/31/2008&i=857796&c=44&v=581&IncludeAlumnirates=

Here is a 9 night southern caribbean with Norwegian Cruise Line. I went on my first caribbean cruise on NCL:

http://www.cruises.com/b/c/sc.asp?d=12/1/2008&d2=12/31/2008&i=853274&c=34&v=444&IncludeAlumnirates=

Im going to list a few more but there are over 130 caribbean cruises in December:

http://www.cruises.com/b/c/sc.asp?d=12/1/2008&d2=12/31/2008&i=832434&c=11&v=403&IncludeAlumnirates=

http://www.cruises.com/b/c/sc.asp?d=12/1/2008&d2=12/31/2008&i=857955&c=11&v=403&IncludeAlumnirates=

http://www.cruises.com/b/c/sc.asp?d=12/1/2008&d2=12/31/2008&i=858198&c=24&v=496&IncludeAlumnirates=

You can check on this website for more.

http://www.cruises.com/s/c/results.asp?wdos=3&places=C&Month=12%2F1%2F2008&operator=ALL&days=ALL&shoppingZipCode=&IncludeSeniorRates=false&SType=A&clp=1&sort=7&submit.x=36&submit.y=15

And these are 6-8 day cruises

http://www.cruises.com/s/c/results.asp?places=C&Month=12%2F1%2F2008&operator=ALL&vessel_id=ALL&days=3&shoppingZipCode=&IncludeSeniorRates=false&sort=7&Search.x=2&Search.y=17

2. A 7-day cruise in December can range from $400 to $1000 a person. There are a lot of cruises that are between $400-$600 that I recommend. You will also have to pay for gratuities and excursions can be pricey. You don't have to do any excursions if you don't want to. But they usually range from 40-100. Some excursions are even more like the Dolphin encounter which is about $114 a person. Zip Line and Scuba diving is also pricey.

3. Cruising is really fun and you will meet a lot of friendly people on the cruise. Watching the sunset and sunrise is beautiful. December is a good time for crusing because it won't be as crowded with kids and it is usually cheaper. Summertime is when it is most expensive. Also, you won't have to worry about hurricane season. The Caribbean is a great destination because there is so much to do. The private beaches are wonderful. Cruises are definiely worth your money. The food is free unless you want to go to a special restaurant on the ship. The staff will take many photos of you on the ship and sometimes at the port. There is a photo gallery where you can purchase the photos at. The photos are expensive but also worth your money buying. I loved St. Thomas, Grand Caymen, Mexico and Puerto Rico. There was a lot of shopping to do in all the islands. There are a lot of jewelry shops in St. Thomas and the prices are good. In Grand Caymen, I did an excursion called Land and Sea and I recommend it. It was a semi submarine that went to Cheeseburger Reef. Then I went to a beach. It was a lot of fun. In Mexico, I went to the Tulum Mayan Ruins and it was amazing. Puerto Rico had the most shopping. It was great! There was a coach store, Dooney and Bourke and Guess. There are many stores there and the coach and Dooney stores are factory stores so its cheaper.

The caribbean is a great destination. Almost all the islands there are beautiful. If you don't want to do any excursions, then you can just walk around the island or take a cab around the island. Almost all the islands have beaches. The water is so clear and feels like paradise.

Enjoy you cruise and Have fun=]

I cruised last December and have another booked for this December. I recommend doing a cruise on the Royal Caribbean ship, Mariner of the Seas out of Port Canaveral, Florida. We did that one last year to the Western Caribbean with port stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and RC's private island, Labadee, Haite.

If you go to Cozumel there is the opportunity to buy a tour to see Mayan ruins, if that's your interest. Its considered the best place to go for scuba and snorkeling. If you go to Jamaica the two main attractions are a river raft float trip (not rapids) and the Dunn's River Falls climb. If you go to Grand Cayman you will likely want to go to 7-Mile Beach ( a short taxi/mini-van ride ($4-$5 per person each way), or do a swim with the dolphins/stingrays tour.

The Mariner is one of RC's Voyager Class ships and has about as many amenities as you will get on any ship. Its actually a slightly smaller version of RC's Freedom Class ships, the Freedom, Liberty and Independence of the Seas.

First of all you should click on this link to a virtual view and tour of the Mariner and all Voyager class ships:

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/multimedia...

It will help you see and understand some of what is on board and where it is.

At the front of the ship on one of deck 11 there is a full service gymnasium will all types of exercise equipment. Then there is an adults only covered pool area next to that that has a pool and two hot tubs. Then you go further back and step outside and there are two pools and 4 hot tubs with lounge chairs and bar service. Then toward the back of the ship on deck 12 is the kids area called Adventure Ocean, the Video Arcade, the Teen Disco, Then on deck 13 is the Rock Climbing wall, the basketball court, the in-line roller skating track, a mini-golf course, and Johnny Rockets. The ship has an ice skating rink on deck 3 with free ice skating and they also do a free ice show that is performed by former Olympic skaters and its fabulous. The ship has a pedestrian mall down its center and there is a place to shop and get food 24/7, including hot pizza. The ship also has an internet cafe on deck 8, and a library on deck 9.

There are some good prices for this December; starting at about $700 for an inside cabin. But don't pick a firm date to go before you look at the prices because the best price may be a different date. Go when the price is the lowest. And do get a balcony cabin as it will make your cruise so much more enjoyable. Take a look at this web site:
http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/search/vacationSearchResult.do;jsessionid=0000vNYP1exmozNDHByu_ZAzWvW:12hdhu87a?cS=QVS&date=20084&dest=CARIB&port=ANY&ship=MA&cruiseTourOnly=false&x=44&y=5

Port Canaveral is a good port to cruise out of. You can drive to the port and park for $84 for a week, or you can fly into Orlando and get transfers by bus from the cruise line.

I have cruised on Celebrity, Princess, and Norwegian also, but RC is my favorite. Take a look at these also:

Time travler
I highly suggest checking out Princess.com. You can look at all the cruises they have to the Caribbean, get prices, see the examples of the cabins, etc. My first cruise was out of Fort Laurderdale to the Eastern Caribbean. I have very fond memories of that trip . You will most likely need about $3,000 for a really nice cruise, but you can go a cheaper route. I have always had at least a balcony cabin which I prefer, but you could do an inside cabin to save money. I think your best bet would be to go to a travel agent for your first cruise. They can set things up so you will have no worries.

cruise junkie
depending on what week you go the price is very diffrent some weeks are a lot cheaper

Number one congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.
Number two contact a Cruise Travel agent as soon as possible. Space is very limited now in December.

Passengers can take advantage of the 10 restaurants, including Cagney's Steakhouse, La Cucina Italian, Mambos Latin/Tapas Restaurant and Lotus Garden Asian Restaurant. They features a variety of other public areas and amenities, and each stateroom offers a television, telephone and 24-hour room service.

I would recommend Royal Carribean- you can do so much like
-swimming or sitting in a nice hottub
-rock climbing
-relaxing
-mini golf
-they have clubs
-adult shows
-entertainment
---------------------------
and so much more

You would want to go in the beginning of december because cruises get more expensive towards the end of december because of christmas break. I would recommend the 1st 2 weeks. (We are going on a cruise in demember on the freedom we are going december 7th-14th) On average if you go in the beginning of the month you would save 50-200 dollars. Maybe even more.

here is royal carribean site
www.royalcaribbean.com

Umm some of my suggestions...
-don't be specific on which date your going on
-the bigger the ship the more fun....(but more expensive)
-We went on legend, monarch, and voyager before and they are pretty good ships.
-I would recommend the Voyager or Freedom family.
-get a pass port...they won't let you get off the ship at some areas if you don't have one...
-I WOULD GO GET YOUR PASS PORT NOW IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE BECAUSE THEY CAN COME IN ANYTIME sometimes it can be 6 months.....

I would look around on different cruise lines but royal carribean is awesome
