I definitely recommend the Silver Cloud on Silverseas, it sails from both Sydney and Auckland. Since it will just be the two of you, I believe, this will be a nice option. It will be a nice, upper class environment for adults. It would be very special. Silverseas can be a little coslty, so if that is a little out of range, you may consider Princess. Holland America is also good, but for the particular cruise you are looking for, it is not my favorite.
Here is a great link to start your planning with: http://cruisecritic.com/ports/area.cfm?area=4
One other piece of advice, I recommend looking into a travel agent. Cruises, especially to a less popular destination, can have a lot of details you need to keep in mind when booking, preparing to leave, etc. A travel agent is aware of these things and make sure you are as well, and in most cases they have lower prices than you could get on your own. I always use a travel agent and it really takes the stress out of the planning. |

I recommend Princess Cruise lines. They have some of the best ships and service around. Normally the itinerary and ports of call are set up by the line, so you go where they go. I suggest you go online and look at itineraries, then look at tours offered in each port.
Its been my experience that there may be certain ports where you can go "on your own" , but if the ship is in that port for only a short time you should stick with their tours because if there are problems, the ship always waits for its own tours to return. On the other hand, if you go off and get lost or the taxi breaks down, you may get left. |
