Need some advice as to what to do, where to snorkle, boat details, packing clues, ect. (look at added deatils)

I am going on a cruise for 4 nights Apr 29 on Carnival Sensation to Bahamas Freeport and Nassau. I want to go to the Bacardi Rum Factory, do horse buggy ride, shop!!!, snorkle, and drink. (I will not be 21 when we go, a year way actually) . I need clues as to where to do these activities, hints, can you drink in Nassau and Freeport, packing clues, port details, ect. ANYTHING will help!

Everything, and I do mean everything, that you need to know about Carnival shore excursions is on the link below.

I was actually disappointed by Bacardi - a quick tour, a little taste, then they want you to buy their rum. I think that you might enjoy a different tour better.

The Sensation, is one of 8 - yes 8 - identical ships that Carnival built in the mid 1990s. Her sister ships are the Fantasy, Fascination, Imagination, Inspiration, Ecstacy, Elation and Paradise. They are all in the mid-to-large category at 70,000+ tons and carrying 2000+ passengers. Although they all have absolutely identical deck plans, the interior decor varies from ship to ship. However, if you've been on one of them, you'll feel like you know all of them well, and are home on any of them!

I took my whole family on the Imagination last year - 8 cabins - it was their yearly presents all rolled-up into one. We went out of Tampa for 5 nights and had a great cruise.

The Imagination was very well taken care of - nothing seemed to be wearing out or in need of replacement. She only has about 20 cabins with balconys, and those are only in the suites, but even with her age, we found nothing lacking. The buffet gets crowded, but other than that I had no complaints. The food was OK - not great. The entertainment was the best of any ship I have been on - and we cruise at least twice a year, so that's a big endorsement. The bars and night clubs were a lot of fun - especially those on the Promenade Deck.

By the way, you may not know that Carnival has the largest standard cabins of any cruise line - 185 sq. ft. compared to 155 - 175 on others.

Carnival delivered what it promised and we enjoyed our cruise, and I hope you do too!

Bon voyage! Enjoy your cruise.

best place to beach in nassau is the cable beach area ..only a $2 jitney ride from town where ship docks. walk through any hotel lobby there to the beach. best time to rent the jet skis is after 4:00...they will usually cut you a cheaper deal,,ask for smokey! straw market in nassau is a barter system for products...do not accept their first offer for anything!

Packing clues... Pack 2 bathing suits (yes, two... I hate to put on a wet, cold suit). Cover-ups for use on ship and off. If you take an excursion to snorkle (we did.. fun!) wear your bathing suit with a cover-up & sneakers. Take a hat, suntain lotion (waterproof) and pack the beach towel you can get at the pool.

Take capris, t-shirts, sandels, and a nice party-type dress. Don't forget to pack dress shoes (you'll look silly in your little black dress and sneakers!)

Take something to wear off the ship (consider where you'll be traveling to. If you live in Nabraska... don't think about flying home in shorts & and a Charlies & Carlos t-shirt....burrrr.) Whatever you pack, put it up when you hit the ship and don't wear it.. you'll be happy when you disembark!

You might want to pack a gym bag that you can fill with whatever you purchase. You will end up buying the most silly things... t-shirts for everyone back home, coconuts that look like monkeys, booze... oh yea, check with the airline... can you bring liquids onboard the plane???

If you forget anything, the ship is well stocked, plus you'll be docking at Nassau, etc.

Make copies of your important papers... bring one copy with you, and leave one set of copies with friends/relatives back home (just in case.)

Have fun!!

I went to the Bacardi factory and was greatly disapointed. The next time I went to Nassau we took a cab to see Hotel Atlantis. That was really neat and a great trip. They have an amazing beach and the hotel is fabulous a must see (almost like a museum) they have an awesome aquarium exhibit as well.

Yes you can drink in Nassau the first time I went I was 19 and I drank at a bar there! I would try the Bushwacker it sounds odd but it is absolutly the best drink i have had in my life. They are famous on St. Thomas but all over the Caribbean.

As for Packing send me an email at sammyjo199 at yahoo and I will send you a detailed packing list I created (I cruise several times a year) and this packing this has never let me down. It is exstinsive though!

To answer your main question "need some advice?" no, I do not need any advice.

Now as to some clues to get to the Bacardi factory. Walk 25 paces from the shore. There you will see an X in the sand. Go 1 mile due north as the crow flies. Give $5 to a man named SeaCracker. Best of luck, Matey.
